When attending Burning Man Festival, you’re sure to see the famous Orgy Dome at some point during your visit. But not everyone is brave enough to venture inside to see whether it’s just as crazy as it’s made out to be. Wanting to rest her curious mind, one woman decided to venture inside and ‘give herself to the Orgy Dome’ – and now she has shared her experience for those too prudish to step inside.

The notorious Orgy Dome has remained a central feature at Burning Man Festival for 22 years – and annually, fresh wild tales emerge from its confines. A statement from ATTOL reads: “The Orgy Dome has long been a space where freedom of expression, enthusiastic consent, and sexual choice are not just respected, but celebrated! “In today’s world, it’s essential to create a space where people can explore their sexuality in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Here, consent is everything, and all individuals 18+ are welcomed, free from shame or stigma.”

What happens inside?

Following her visit to the Orgy Dome, one woman has revealed her experience and the three fundamental rules everyone must follow to ensure it remains a ‘safe and fun’ environment for self-expression.

On Reddit, she said: “I am an open-minded lesbian from Costa Rica and I travel to Burning Man to open my mind and chill and connect with people. I arrived at a fun camp with international people and the Israeli girl in the camp was talking about her experiences camping at the Orgy Dome, so I decided I wanted to go.”

There are regulations you must consider before even crossing the threshold – you must present your ID, as you need to be over 18-years-old, and you must bring a companion with you.

However, there’s no requirement for a romantic connection with this partner; you could even team up with someone you’ve just met at the festival.

What rules do you have to agree to?

She revealed that she queued for around 30 to 40 minutes and was then given a wristband to show she’d passed the initial checks.

Next, you’re required to attend a half-hour consent talk to ensure everyone’s safety within the tent. She said: “The dude is pretty serious. No phones, no drugs, no weird vibes. Respect. Which is something I do.”

Following this, you’re permitted to venture further into the tent. She described: “You enter a lounge-like room to drop off coats. They give you a bucket for your scarf/underwear etc and condoms. You enter the room… The energy shifts into movement and sound.”

Can you refuse certain acts?

Burning Man takes consent seriously, which keeps revellers safe and allows them to set boundaries. While the female attendee said yes to a sexual encounter inside the tent, there was an unlikely act she declined.

She chose not to cuddle her sexual partner – due to the long queue of people waiting to use the venue and the lack of time. Reflecting on the experience, the Burning Man attendee shared: “At some point I zone out, I take it all in.

“The music in the lounge is playing songs in Spanish, I am a bit congested. He wants to cuddle. I tell him, ‘Baby, this is not the place to cuddle, people are in line..

“We grab our stuff and we walk out, you say thanks to the dudes working there who clean the sheets. Like anything at Burning Man, it’s weird, fun, and mind-opening. You gotta try it!”

While she didn’t reveal the duration of her time in the dome, some festival attendees have claimed to spend up to two hours inside at a stretch.
