Police have launched a man hunt after three people – including a young up-and-coming latin singer – were shot in what was described as an ‘ambush-style’ killing

A woman shot dead at a nightclub has been identified as latin singer Maria De La Rosa. She is understood to have been shot dead in the early hours of Saturday morning in what police described as an “ambush-style” killing.

Accounts from witnesses said they witnessed two unknown males run up to a parked vehicle and let off multiple shots. All three of the passengers inside were hit, but at first unidentified. After further investigation, it was revealed that one was up-and-coming singer Rosa.

The 22-year-old female singer was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The two other victims are alive, but currently in critical condition.

According to the LAPD, the shooting took place just before 1:30am on Bryant Street east of Tampa Avenue in the Northridge neighbourhood. The identities of the other victims are still currently unknown.

The music artist who goes by DELAROSA is most well known for her song No me Llames, which means Don’t call me.

The motive behind the killing is still unknown. Previously Instagram posts from the singing star presented her a hard-working apprentice, spending plenty of time in the studio.

Fans have been sharing their condolences online, with one fan posting on social media: “She was a sweetheart. Her name was Maria. Beautiful soul. Her mom and dad are beyond devastated, her brother can’t stop crying.”

This is not the first time a young star has been killed in a freak incident. Earlier this month, A 21-year-old beauty queen has tragically died in a car crash alongside her boyfriend just a week after being crowned.

Alison Montaño Guerrero and Jesús Eduardo Severiano García were trapped inside their car after they suffered a head-on collision with a lorry travelling in the opposite direction on Friday (November 7).

When emergency services arrived at the scene, they could only confirm the couple’s deaths. Tributes to Alison said she “captivated with her beauty” and would be remembered for her “joy, kindness and dedication”.

Alison had been crowned Miss Teocaltiche 2025 eight days earlier, on October 30, just miles from where the devastating crash took place. During the pageant, she expressed her love for her hometown.

She also said: “Today I want to tell you that true beauty isn’t measured by crowns or dresses, but by the ability to look at others with respect and love.”

Alison was studying Psychology and Education at the Centro Universitario de los Altos, part of the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, and was described by local media as a dedicated student. She was also a model, according to local reports.
