Love Island legend Kaz Kamwi has revealed that she had two “one hour” phone calls during her All Stars journey.

Kas became an instant fan favourite when she appeared on Love Island in 2022, making it to the final with ex Tyler Cruickshank. She returned to the villa for the star-studded All Stars series in 2024 – and now she’s shared some behind-the-scenes secrets.

Love Island fans know that Islanders must ditch their phones before stepping into the villa, and their contact with the outside world is strictly limited. They are handed villa-specific phones to reveal twists during the series, and we hear the stars scream: “I’ve got a text!”

Finalists, such as Kaz, are entitled to one phone call home at the end of the show. But the fashionista was allowed to make two calls when she was dumped from All Stars and sent into isolation for 24 hours (meaning she was technically no longer in the villa).

She told Daily Star: “The producers were quite nice, and they let me have two one hour phone calls.”

Discussing her exit from the villa, she went on: “I think I left All Stars a week before the final. Very different actually, because I got dumped by myself, and I was like, ‘Wait, this is what happens when you get dumped on your own.’ I was in a villa with a chaperone, but I didn’t have my phone for like 24 hours.

“I was quite lucky, because my episode aired straight away. I didn’t realise that sometimes when people get dumped, they don’t have a phone for like two or three days, because you have to wait for the episode to air.”

It was a bit of a shock to the system. “It’s insane, because in the final, you don’t have your phone, but you get a phone call home,” Kaz said. “I remember thinking, ‘That was the longest 24 hours of my life!’”

But she said she was well looked after by the producers of the show. Although Love Island stars cannot call home, they are occasionally allowed phone calls to their families in specific circumstances.

Fans will know that Kaz’s quest for love didn’t end in the villa, and she’s told us she’s “travelling to find love”. She has admitted she has a thing for “American men”.

Discussing what’s next, Kaz said: “I’m in my travel era. All I’m literally doing, travelling with friends, travelling to find love… and just living my best life.”

Seems like she’ll have some tried and tested wingmen and women, because she’s hanging out with some fellow Islanders, including Jess White and Leanne Amaning. “I’m going to Mykinos with an Australian brand in three days called Basics by Bee. It’s going to be me, Leanne, Jesse, and Will, Samantha Kenny, Jess White… [it’s] going to be a lot of fun.”
