WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT: Sheriff Bill Prummell said he was “at a loss for words” after Charlotte County officers arrested mum Malia Nummerdor as he could not believe her reaction to the charges
A mum who allegedly had sex with her pet dog has left a law enforcement officer “at a loss for words” over her bizarre behaviour following her arrest for a “disgusting”.
Malia Nummerdor, 38, was charged with engaging in sexual contact with an animal last week after she was allegedly caught by her husband on home security footage in Charlotte County, Florida.
According to local police, the footage appeared to show a partially nude Nummerdor allegedly having sex with the family pet. Her husband caught the act on cameras he reportedly installed to catch someone stealing from a coin jar.
Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell was left stunned by the incident and said he “simply cannot comprehend this behaviour”. He also slammed Nummerdor for deciding to smile in her mugshot following the arrest for “something as disgusting as this.”
In a statement from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s department, Sheriff Prummell said: “There are only a few times in my career that I have been at a loss for words. This is one of those times.
“I simply cannot comprehend this behaviour. No animal should ever be subjected to this kind of conduct, and you can be sure that we will take action when we learn about it here in Charlotte County.
“And then to smile in the mugshot? I don’t know what there is to smile about when you’ve been arrested for something as disgusting as this.”
Nummerdor was interviewed last Tuesday (September 15), where the mum-of-two allegedly acknowledged the video with the dog but said there was no sexual contact. She has insisted that she was just petting the dog.
She reportedly said the recordings dated from 2024 and alleged that her husband had previously threatened her with the footage.
However, according to ABC7, investigators said the footage showed Nummerdor partially nude with the dog positioned in a manner consistent with sexual activity.
Images of her pet dog ‘Ranger’, believed to be pet allegedly abused, have been found on social media alongside other dogs. It is unknown if they are also family dogs. Nummerdor’s Facebook profile contains photos of her over the years with her husband, whom she married in 2023, and her two sons.
In some of the posts, Nummerdor has been called “gorgeous” and a “hottie” by social media followers after news of her arrest came up.
The mum was being held on a bond of $35,000 (£25,800) at the Charlotte County Jail in the last statement made by law enforcement.
