Conor McGregor makes a statement on his UFC future
UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has revealed he’s currently in talks with the promotion over his long-awaited return to the Octagon.
“I’m currently in the negotiation stage,” he said at an event to honour his work with the New York’s Children Medical Research Foundation.
“There are multiple opponents on the platform. Of course I would love to get that one [against Floyd Mayweather] back.
“I felt I went into his realm and I felt handy early on, he had to wait for me to get tired.”
Jon Jones’ coach makes a bold prediction
Jon Jones’ striking coach Brandon Gibson believes the former UFC light-heavyweight champion could fight his bitter rival Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight title by year’s end, despite the fact he’s facing a ban for a second failed drug test.
On Thursday afternoon, he tweeted: “Let’s give this another try – I predict we see Jones vs DC 3 for the HW title Dec 29, 18.”
Anderson Silva drug test development
The substances discovered in Anderson Silva’s recent failed drug test have seemingly been revealed.
The former UFC middleweight champion failed a drug screening ahead of his proposed UFC Fight Night 122 bout with Kelvin Gastelum.
According to Combate, the in-competition test discovered traces of methyltestosterone, a synthetic form of testosterone, in the 42-year-old’s system, as well as a diuretic.
Should Silva be found guilty of knowingly taking the prohibited agents found in his system, he could be banned from fighting for up to four years.
