It is understood Ozil has reached an agreement on a new deal worth over £300,000-a-week taking him to 2021.
Arsenal are yet to officially confirm Ozil’s deal.
But Elneny says Ozil told him that he had finally put pen to paper after months on negotiations.
“I spoke to Mesut and he told me that he signed the new contract. He is a world-class player on & off the pitch,” Elneny told BeIN Sports.
“He is a vital player for us and there is always a positive aura surrounding him.”
Ozil teased that a contract had been signed in a post on his social media channels.
The German posted an image of himself signing photos with the caption “Had a busy day signing things” and a winking emoji.
