Manchester United signed Sanchez from Arsenal last month but the Chile star flopped against Tottenham in midweek.
The Red Devils remain a work in progress with Jose Mourinho desperate to splash the cash in the summer to help close the gap on Manchester City next season.
And the Manchester Evening News say United plan to pursue a deal for Bayern Munich star Vidal – because of Sanchez and Pogba.
Sanchez and Vidal are close friends, having turned out for the Chile national team together and helped them win the Copa America in both 2015 and 2016.
Vidal congratulated his compatriot earlier this month on his move to Manchester United.
“The teammates that I have are of great quality, important players who are doing things well on their teams and that has always a prize to reach the best teams in the world,” he said.
“Alexis has earned his chance to be at United, and I hope he goes on to win many titles with them.”
United are supposedly confident of signing Vidal, given he is likely to fall down the pecking order at Bayern next term.
The Bundesliga giants have landed Leon Goretzka from Schalke and his arrival has increased the competition for places over at the Allianz Arena.
The MEN add another reason United want to land Vidal is because of Pogba.
Together, the duo blossomed at Juventus, helping them win the Serie A title three years on the trot before Vidal jumped ship in 2015.
And United supposedly want him to help get the best out of Pogba and strike up one of football’s most formidable partnerships on the planet.
However, the Vidal link to United is nothing new.
The club were famously tipped to secure his signature in 2014, after Louis van Gaal’s appointment, but they ended up signing Ander Herrera instead – and Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger the following year.
