Those are the thoughts of Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy.
Manchester United produced an abject display last night as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat away to Tottenham last night at Wembley.
Christian Eriksen and a Phil Jones own goal ensured Tottenham remain firmly in the hunt to finish in the top four.
As far as Pogba is concerned, although he has suffered with injuries this term, he has struggled to convince at times why United spent £89million to bring him to Old Trafford.
While his attacking instincts are unquestioned, his defensive skills are something left to be desired.
Pogba also looked to be upset when he was substituted on the hour mark by Jose Mourinho.
When asked for his thoughts on Pogba’s display against Tottenham, Murphy told Match of the Day: “Pogba is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, but defensively he is reactive rather than proactive.Â
“[Phil] Jones and [Chris] Smalling kept getting dragged out because Pogba kept vacating that space next to [Nemanja] Matic, and it just caused United all sorts of problems.
“Pogba has been great for United and I prefer him in a more attacking role.Â
“In terms of his defensive discipline, it’s not really in his nature.”
Meanwhile, United are awaiting news on Marouane Fellaini, who came off with suspected knee ligament damage seven minutes after replacing Jesse Lingard.
