Marco Asensio swap

07.15: Real Madrid are expected to up their interest in Chelsea star Eden Hazard in the summer.

And one of Real Madrid’s most promising young players has reportedly said he would like to be involved in the deal so that he can move to Chelsea.

That player is Marco Asensio, who has found game time limited at the Bernabeu.

Giroud claim

06.45: Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has made a massive prediction about Olivier Giroud.

Antonio Conte has ruled out Giroud making his first start for the club at against Watford on Monday (8pm).

But Merson thinks he will play some part in the clash.

“I think Olivier Giroud will play and they’ll be a better team than the one we saw against Bournemouth,” Merson told Sky Sports’ The Debate.

“Watford stopped the rot at Stoke but let’s be honest, they are in trouble.

“They are on a poor run and Chelsea should take advantage.”

Courtois wanted by Real

06.15: Real Madrid are hoping to land Thibaut Courtois or David De Gea in the summer, according to Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague.

“It’s definite that Real Madrid have got De Gea or Thibaut Courtois as a target for next season,” Balague said.

“I think Courtois is easier. De Gea actually told team-mates in the national side that he was going to Real Madrid, as you’ve seen in the last couple of years, it’s not as easy as that.

“Courtois would also be happy to go to Madrid, and Real have it in their mind to go for one or the other.”
