Lewis had to be separated by stewards as he pushed Justicia at the end of his 6-5 win in Wigan.

The argument sparked in the eighth leg of the match, in which Lewis began swearing at his opponent.

Lewis is heard saying: “You’re trying to p*ss me off, I’m telling you…”

After winning another leg he turned to Justicia and against said: “Don’t try p*ssing me off I’m telling you.”

Lewis appeared to be aggravated after Justicia threw midway through the match.

The two squared up to each other on the oche.

And after the match Lewis is seen pushing Justicia in the shoulder with his right hand after the pair seemed to argue about the oche.

A PDC statement read: “Following a review of the incidents which occurred in his match with Jose Justicia at Friday’s UK Open qualifier, the Darts Regulation Authority has suspended Adrian Lewis with immediate effect pending a full investigation in to the matter.

“The player has the right of appeal.”

Lewis is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2011 and 2012.

He also won the UK Open in 2013.

The 33-year-old failed to win a major tournament last year, losing in the semi-finals of the Masters and World Matchplay.
