Over the course of the week it’s been claimed that the Star Wars film’s first short teaser will drop during the Super Bowl on Sunday night.

Then, it is thought that a full trailer will land on Monday on Good Morning America.

Howard hinted that both of the rumoured drop-times are correct, as he carefully steered conversation towards the Super Bowl on social media.

He cryptically tweeted: “Midway thru a long flight. Back in the #Solo editing rooms now. Btw, who’s gonna win #SuperBowl2018?”

He then retweeted a fan replying: “I see what you did there”, and another who tellingly wrote: “Who cares I’m going to be watching GMA Monday. Need my rest.”

The fact he reposted both messages is a big hint that the rumours are true.

And it won’t be a moment too soon: there are now just under four months until Solo: A Star Wars Story lands in cinemas.

The May 25 release date is coming around at pace, especially considering there have still been no signs of promotional material.

It is assumed that LucasFilm wanted to wait until Star Wars: The Last Jedi disappeared from cinemas before pushing on with Solo.

Production was turbulent to say the least, with Howard stepping up as director midway through the filming process – after Phil Lord and Chris Miller were both dismissed.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is out on May 25.
