Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date has been revealed with new gameplay images for PS4 and Xbox One.
The bad news is that the PS4 and Xbox One adventure has been delayed, and won’t be released until October 26.
Rockstar apologised for the delay, explaining that the game needed more polish.
“We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018,” reads a Rockstar blog post.
“We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.”
Rockstar also released a selection of new screenshots, before hinting at the appearance of a new trailer.Â

“We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it,” Rockstar continues.
“In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.”
There was speculation that a new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer would air during last year’s Super Bowl.
Perhaps we’ll see more from the game during this year’s Super Bowl, which airs on February 4.
“Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland,” reads a Rockstar Games statement.
“The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”
With GTA Online proving such a big success, Rockstar is expected to push the online element in Red Dead Redemption 2.
If it’s anything like GTA 5, the game will receive constant updates, including new game modes, weapons and more.
