PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down to the release of the free PS5 Essentials for July 2026. After making fans wait for a little longer than usual, Sony officially announced the PS Plus games last week, including the addition of a heavyweight blockbuster as the next headliner.

Three games will be joining the line-up in July, including a recent Call of Duty release, a hidden gem action RPG, and a tactical role-playing game with tabletop elements. Needless to say, the new games will replace the current line-up, which means you’d better hurry if you haven’t redeemed the titles for June.

The good news is that PlayStation Plus subscribers don’t have long to wait before the new games are released.

The next batch of PS Plus Essentials have a July 7 release date and a 9am BST UK release time.

That’s 1am PT / 4am ET for fans living in the US, and 10am CET for European players.

You’ll have until August 4 to add the games to your library before a new selection joins the line-up.

PlayStation Plus July 2026 games line-up in full

The new PS Plus line-up is headlined by military first-person shooter Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, which made its console and PC debut back in 2023.

A reboot of the 2011 original, Modern Warfare 3 is a cross-gen release, which means you can play on PS4 or PS5.

It contains an epic campaign mode, which sees Captain Price and Task Force 141 face off against Vladimir Makarov. That’s on top of the usual array of multiplayer maps and modes, as well as Zombies on one of the mode’s biggest maps.

If you’ve already picked up a copy of Modern Warfare 3, then you might be more excited to try hidden gem action RPG CrossCode, which has a 93% rating on Steam.

The game combines classic pixel art visuals with fast-paced combat, as well as some surprisingly satisfying puzzles.

Finally, PS Plus subscribers will also be able to grab turn-based tactical RPG For the King 2, which supports four-player co-operative play.

Games leaving PS Plus in July 2026

If you haven’t already, then consider this your last chance warning to pick up the PS Plus Essentials for June 2026.

Available until 9am BST on the morning of June 7, fans have just hours left to grab the current line-up, which is headlined by Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition.

Essentially Honey I Shrunk the Kinds: The Game, Grounded shrinks players down to the size of an ant and drops them into the back garden.

You’ll need to scavenge for items, build shelter and battle the elements in a bid to survive the dangers of the garden.

This is also your last chance to grab the Super Smash Bros-inspired Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, as well as Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
