The 28-year-old’s passing shocked the world 10 years ago, but he left behind an impressive film career.

His most iconic role, which won him a posthumous Oscar, has to be The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Now his sister Kate, has revealed Ledger planned to reprise The Joker in The Dark Knight Rises.

Speaking with new.com.au, promoting the I Am Heath Ledger documentary, she revealed her last conversation with him, the night before he died.

Ledger’s sister said: “I spoke to him the night before [he died] and we were laughing and joking.

“He was so proud of what he had done in Batman. And I know he had plans for another Batman.

“He loved working with Chris Nolan and Christian Bale and Gary Oldman. He just had the best time ever doing that film.

“When he came home at Christmas he couldn’t wait to tell us all about it and he was doing the voice and laughing, showing me all the rushes. We had a great time.”

Ledger’s “plans for another Batman” can only mean he was set to star in The Dark Knight Rises.

Nolan said: “I’ve seen a lot of people try and imitate it since. But we never quite knew if he was going to go high or if he was going to go low.

“You never knew what that guy was going to do, and that’s what was terrifying about him.”
