Fans have been wondering when they will finally get to see the first footage from the upcoming Han Solo movie.

There has even been concern among the Star Wars faithful that Disney and Lucasfilm are worried about their first spin-off since Rogue One.

So why exactly has it been delayed?

Well according to the Hollywood Reporter, Tinseltown market experts believe the delay was put in place until The Last Jedi – which was released in mid-December – had basically finished its run in cinemas.

Presumably this would be so a Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer didn’t take away fan focus from The Last Jedi while its still in cinemas.

Disney, who also own Marvel Studios, made a similar move with the Avengers Infinity War trailer.

While that teaser was expected to coincide with the cinematic release of Thor Ragnarok, it was nowhere to be seen until a month after that film had been in the movie theatres.

How long the trailer is or what it will reveal remains a mystery.

Solo: A Story will be released in UK cinemas on May 25, 2018.
