While Bungie have been trying to rebalance the game in recent weeks following a backlash from fans, that won’t be stopping the launch of new Destiny 2 DLC.

The popular gaming series will be seeing drops of new content throughout 2018, with new details confirmed for the upcoming expansion.

Live team director Christopher Barrett has now revealed that the new content will arrive in May, providing quite a gap between DLC launches.

This will be filled with other content and features already confirmed by Bungie in their roadmap for the game.

6v6 Iron Banner will be launched in March, along with Nightfall challenge cards, which will come before the end of Season 2.

The new DLC for PS4 and Xbox One will land during Season 3 of Destiny 2, which will also boast other change to the current Faction Rally event.

There has also been an alleged expansion leak this week, although many believe it to be a fake.

A posted on Reddit claimed that the next expansion would be called God of Mars, which had leaked briefly on the Microsoft Store.

However, this new leak has been determined as a fake, based on how the formatting appears altered.

It’s likely that Bungie will start teasing new information surrounding the next DLC project in the coming months.

Right now, the focus is on how the game is being changed for the better, in a bid to stave off grumblings from the community.

As mentioned above, a recent Destiny 2 update brought back the Iron Banner event to PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Completing Iron Banner matches, challenges, and milestones helps earn Iron Banner Tokens, and earn Iron Banner gear by raising your reputation with the Iron Lords.

To participate in the Iron Banner, players must: complete the Destiny 2 campaign, achieve Level 20, and speak with Lord Saladin to receive the Iron Banner Milestone.

If during the Iron Banner event Lord Saladin does not appear in the Tower, players should return to Orbit and try relaunching into the Tower activity again.

The current Iron Banner Challenges includes:

  • Catharsis: Defeat 5 opponents in a single life.
  • Light versus Light: Defeat an opponent while their Super ability is active.
  • Objectively Awesome: Capture 15 zones with your team during a match of Control.

To participate in the Iron Banner while the event is available, players must:

  • Complete the Red War campaign.
  • Achieve Level 20.
  • Speak with Lord Saladin in the Tower Courtyard to begin the Iron Banner Milestone and unlock the Iron Banner Crucible activity.

The new Iron Banner event will be available for the next week, before it disbands again for Season 2.
