King Charles was allegedly “disappointed” when Prince Harry was born, recently uncovered tapes of Princess Diana have revealed.
The King of England, at the time Prince of Wales, was left bitterly saddened by the birth of his second son as he and then-wife Diana had been thinking it was a girl.
Snippets of the Princess Diana tapes heard the King lamenting the birth of his youngest son, who he had allegedly hoped “would be a girl”.

King Charles allegedly said: “We’re so disappointed, we thought it would be a girl.”
But a furious Ms Kydd berated the Prince of Wales and “snapped his head off” when he allegedly complained, with Princess Diana’s mother saying he should “realise you are lucky to have a child.”
The clips, which were considered damaging for King Charles by the Daily Mail, come just a week before the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
Unearthed clips paint the King in a new light and are set to be used in a documentary for Disney+, which will air early next year.

It comes as fellow Royal Family members Meghan Markle and Prince Harry feature in the Heart of Invictus documentary, considered by many to be the Sussex’s major Netflix push.
The Daily Star previously reported on the documentary, with a body language expert believing the Duke of Sussex comes across as genuine, if a bit worried about his time in front of camera.
Body language expert Chris Pardoe believed a “genuine” but “highly stressed” Harry could be seen in the first and fourth episodes of the Heart of Invictus documentary.
The Duke could be seen “rocking from side to side” in one clip, an indication of feeling “highly stressed” according to expert Pardoe.
