Bank of England Governor Mark Carney has urged pension fund managers to wake up to climate change to stop their investments from becoming worthless.
‘A question for every company, every financial institution, every asset manager, pension fund or insurer: what’s your plan?’, Carney said when he was interviewed for Radio 4’s Today programme.
Carney told BBC Radio 4 Today that the financial sector had begun to curb investment in fossil fuels – but far too slowly.Â
Elsewhere, Rio Tinto workers have returned to a South African titanium and iron mine, weeks after the shooting of an employee forced the site to close.Â
