FTSE LIVE: UK stocks rocket at the open; Distributor Bunzl makes first foray into Norwegian market

The footsie, seemingly revived after a long weekend, jumped more than 0.7 per cent after the bell today to reach 7,634.

FTSE 100 firm Bunzl, which distributes work place products and safety gear, has reported an 8 per cent rise in half-year profits to £197.3million, and has snapped up Norwegian company Enor as it dips its toe into new markets.
