SECRET: Harry and Meghan’s wedding chapel may be hiding part of Jesus’s cross
But St George’s Chapel in Windsor — where the Royal wedding will take place — is home to a shocking history in its own right.
Built over 50 years between 1475 and 1525, the chapel is rumoured to be home to some unbelievable relics.
And in a stunning announcement, a top historian revealed part of the alleged “true cross” of Jesus Christ was held there.
Speaking to Daily Star Online, Windsor local historian and expert on the royal family David Lewis, said that the chapel where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will wed is hiding many dark secrets.

BIBLICAL: Is St George’s Chapel holding a big secret?
“No one knows what happened to the portion of Jesus’s ‘True Cross’”
David Lewis, Windsor historian
“Windsor was a great centre of pilgrimage in the Middle Ages,” David said.
“More important than Canterbury, even.
“Many incredible relics were given to St George’s.
“Edward III donated a bit of Jesus’ cross in the 14th century, and it was held in a reliquary called the Cross of Gneth in the chapel on display for all to see.”

HOLY: Part of Jesus’s cross was held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor
Among the other remarkable relics held at the chapel include the arm of St George and the breast milk of the Virgin Mary.
But during the Reformation under Henry VIII’s reign, England became a Protestant country and the vast majority of relics disappeared — either destroyed, hidden by believers, or just lost.
“No one knows what happened to the portion of Jesus’s ‘True Cross’,” David said.
Among the other mysteries of the chapel is the massive underground vaults, directly beneath where Harry and Megs will marry on Saturday.
The stone vaults are kept hidden from the public, explained David, with little known about what secrets they hold.
“It was the burial place of many important people,” he said, “including many royals who were all buried in lead coffins.
“King George IV was buried there in 1830, and he’d become so fat that his lead coffin was so heavy a special hydraulics system had to be built to carry the coffin into the vaults.”
Nowadays the vaults are kept locked all year round, David explained, except for a secretive ceremony once a year when “the Lord Chamberlain and Dean of Windsor check the vault’s hydraulics”.
