Jennifer Lopez isn’t cast in the upcoming Baywatch reboot as far as I know, but she made a strong case for it at the May 10 taping of The Roast of Kevin Hart.
For the event, Lopez wore a Michael Costello dress that looked uncannily like one of the show’s classic siren-red one-pieces. With its sarong, curve-enhancing silhouette, and scooped neckline, the little red dress is enough to stop hearts, take breath away, and provide CPR all at once.

Lopez accessorized the red dress with an equally red Chanel mini handbag, a large gold cuff bracelet, her now trademark aviator shades, and nude mule sandals. She kept her hair in loose—dare I say, beachy?—waves.
Lopez showed off even more chunky gold jewelry, including a large square ring, as she slipped her arm around Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria’s shoulder. Lopez’s own Netflix original, Office Romance, hits the streamer on June 5.

The golden glow highlights in Lopez’s hair and makeup made for a juicy combination with the dress. It’s the kind of pairing that screams summer, even if it’s happening pre-Memorial Day. Jennifer Lopez kept the rest of her look simple, which was the right call to keep the outfit from feeling too busy. When you’re dressing in a color this bold, the only thing you really need is confidence. And J.Lo always brings that in spades.
J.Lo’s look reminds me of the time Jennifer Lawrence announced her arrival on the A-list with a bombshell moment at the 2011 Oscars, wearing a Calvin Klein gown that was similarly lifeguard-turned-megastar. I have a theory that moment kicked off Lawrence’s love affair with tomato red, an affair that continues to this day. Still waiting for a male star to tackle this shade on the step and repeat with the same amount of success. For now, at least, Lopez and Lawrence have it pretty well handled.
