Donald Trump has called the Jeffrey Epstein story a ‘dead issue’ and refused to answer any more questions about his name appearing in files relating to the dead paedo

Donald Trump took inspiration from a wrestling storyline for his defence of criticism over how his government handled the Epstein files scandal, it is claimed. The Orange Manbaby has been dogged by his long-time friendship with convicted paedo Jeffrey Epstein.

But he has recently refused to answer questions about the growing crisis, telling reporters last month: “I don’t comment on something that’s a dead issue.”

And reports have emerged suggesting WWE hall of famer Trump used a wrestling story line as inspiration for the tactic after seeing Paul Heyman’s interview about the controversial return of Brock Lesnar, who was named in a sex trafficking lawsuit against former chairman Vince McMahon.

During a chat with sports journalist Ariel Helwani, Heyman said: “Everything in life is met with criticism, I don’t pay attention to that. I don’t pay attention to it.”

He went on: “Everyone has criticism in life. There are people that criticize Jesus. There are people that criticize Moses. There are people that criticize Muhammad. There are people that criticize God or Gods.”

And WWE top brass have bragged a White House press official told them the Trump administration took inspiration from the wrestling company’s handling of the return, the Wrestling Observer reports.

Well-connected journalist Dave Meltzer reported: “During the height of the Epstein Files scandal, a White House press office official texted a major WWE official.

“And people in the company were told by [WWE chief Paul] Levesque that Heyman’s promo on Lesnar’s return, where he said ‘Mohammed was criticized. Jesus was criticized. FDR was criticized. Brock Lesnar was criticized’ was said to be part of the inspiration for the response the party made.”

Former world champion Lesnar, a legend in both WWE and UFC, stunned fans when he returned at SummerSlam in August. He dominated in WWE since bursting on to the scene in 2002 before joining the UFC in 2008.

He famously broke the Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak in 2014 when he returned to the squared circle, but had not been active in the company since August 2023 before his latest return.

He was named in a federal lawsuit in February filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant against the company and former executive Vince McMahon.

He was identified, in an amended complaint filed in US District Court, as an individual Grant claims McMahon offered her to for sex in 2021. He is not listed as a defendant in the lawsuit.

McMahon, who stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022 and has denied the allegations, called the amended complaint a ‘publicity stunt’ in response.

US President Trump has a long association with WWE. His Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, N.J. hosted both WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V, the first venue to host the flagship event in consecutive years.

And in 2007, he was part of a storyline that saw him take on McMahon in a “Battle of the Billionaires” and in 2009 he was involved in another storyline which saw him “buy” the WWE show Monday Night Raw only to sell it back for twice the price.

Last year, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan campaigned for Trump’s re-election, McMahon’s wife Linda is his Secretary of Education and current WWE supremo Triple H appeared at the White House in July to launch the return of the Presidential fitness test.
