Apple TV+’s latest tear-jerking film has elicited the same response from everyone who’s already watched it over the weekend.
Featuring a host of recognisable faces from British cinema and television, the new drama is an ideal mix of romance, comedy, and even science-fiction for movie buffs to immerse themselves in.
Penned by and starring Brett Goldstein of Ted Lasso fame, and directed by William Bridges, All of You was launched in select cinemas and on the streaming platform last Friday (26th September).
The film has already made waves, earning a 74 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and topping Apple TV+’s film charts over the weekend.
However, be prepared for a good cry as viewers have warned that it’s sure to tug at your heartstrings, reports the Mirror.
This poignant drama is set in a not-too-distant future where scientists have devised a test to find soulmates, and Laura (played by Imogen Poots), who’s been unlucky in love, decides to take it.
Regrettably, her best mate Simon (Goldstein) has been secretly harbouring feelings for her for years, and he finds it difficult to hide his emotions when she begins a relationship with her supposedly perfect match, Lukas (Steven Cree).
Viewers have been left sobbing after watching the film and have taken to social media to express their heart-wrenching reactions to the devastating finale.
One reviewer on Letterboxd, despite being visibly upset, still awarded the film a full five stars. They wrote: “apple tv can rot in hell for making this film i’m actually gonna throw up im in tears and hyperventilating (not over exaggerating).”
Another shared: “I knew this movie would be good, but I wasn’t prepared for it to destroy me emotionally the way it did.
“It’s one of those stories that reminds me why I love movies so much..”
“This movie breaks your heart time after time,” another fan penned.
“Great performances. Interesting long shots without cutting away, almost uncomfortably long. So good!”
A fourth concurred: “Devastating, heartbreaking and like a punch in the gut at times. But also warming, emotional and so full of love and depth.”
The sentiment continued over on X (formerly Twitter), where one user confessed: “I was not ready for this movie. I’m just over half an hour in and I’m already emotionally destroyed.”
Another exclaimed: “For romance and drama lovers this was SO good. Amazing acting!!! It felt like one long gut punch.”
And a final fan enthused: “Beautiful. What an outstanding film – dialogue to die for and hit me right in the feels. #AllOfYou.”
Are you mentally prepared to embark on an emotional rollercoaster with Laura and Simon this week?
