Callum Green, 19, was found guilty of outraging public decency by using a rocking horse and a branch during a sex act in a play area in Hartlepool, County Durham, on the morning of October 19, 2024
A teenager who was found guilty of outraging public decency by using a rocking horse and a branch during a sex act in a play area has walked free from court.
Callum Green, who was convicted of the offence following a trial on October 15 this year, returned to Teesside Magistrates’ Court for sentencing this week.
Green, 19, performed the act in Burn Valley Gardens in Hartlepool on the morning of October 19, 2024. The charge stated: “You, in a public place committed an act outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner, namely inserting parts of a “rocking horse” inside yourself whilst masturbating, then pulled a branch off a tree and penetrated yourself.”
The teenager was also being sentenced this week for one count of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, which he had previously admitted, reports Teesside Live.
That charge read: “On or in 18 October 2024 at Hartlepool without lawful excuse, damaged a children’s playground to the value of unknown belonging to Hartlepool Council intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.”
Green, of the town’s Alston Street, was scheduled to appear in court on November 14 for sentencing, however, a warrant was issued when he failed to attend.
However, during this week’s court appearance, Green was handed a two-year community order with 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and a 120-day alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement.
He was instructed to pay £650 in court costs, £200 in compensation and a £114 victim surcharge.
He was caught on CCTV inserting parts of the children’s ride inside himself in the playground of Burn Valley Gardens, Hartlepool, County Durham, on the morning of October 19, 2024.
Teeside Magistrates’ Court heard he also broke off a tree branch which he used to penetrate himself while sitting on a park bench. Green was found guilty of outraging public decency.
The court heard the rocking horse, owned by Hartlepool Borough Council, had to be professionally cleaned. Green, of Hartlepool, was previously bailed on condition he does not enter Burn Valley Gardens or any other playground in Cleveland.
