Hotel shares photos as arrested Brit mum ‘trapped abroad’ after Turkey teeth op

A hotel has hit back after a Brit mum claimed she was trapped in Turkey following her arrest for trashing her room while on a drunken bender.

The Lexia Hotel in Antalya has hit back at Georgia Harrison, claiming she left the room in an “unusable” state, and released images of the damage.

Georgia was arrested along with her partner on May 7 after allegedly trying to sneak out of the hotel without owning up to the damage. In a GoFundMe appeal, she confessed to getting hammered and smashing the shower screen, admitting it was the “I got drunk and I have somehow smashed the shower screen of the hotel room and damaged the room. [It was the] worst mistake of my life. Anyway it’s done, I can’t change it but wow am I paying for it.”

The situation took place during a celebratory getaway for her boyfriend’s new teeth. Georgia claims she was chucked in a packed Turkish cell with “hundreds of men” and held for several days.

A judge later slapped her with a £15,000 bill, and she’s been barred from leaving Turkey until the hotel gets its payment.

The hotel has issued a statement, along with damning images, to counter what it calls “one-sided” reporting. Georgia initially claimed she only broke the glass screen, but the hotel’s pics reveal a room left in shambles, reports the Mirror.

Georgia says she’s tried to get the fine lifted with the help of lawyers, but has concerns about being “robbed left right and centre”. The hotel has painted a very different picture of the incident, alleging that the guests left a trail of destruction in their wake.

According to their account, the shower cubicle was “completely broken”, the LCD television was “removed and rendered unusable”, and the outer window of the room was “broken by an object thrown from inside”.

Furthermore, the hotel claims that two single beds were “separated and rendered unusable”, bed sheets and towel sets were “rendered unusable”, and there were “traces of drinks and food” splattered across the ceiling and walls. The hotel states that the room’s bespoke furniture and fixtures required a month-long repair process.

In a post on their website, the hotel explained that they sought compensation for the damages from the guests, citing invoices from the company that built the hotel. They maintained that their goal is to act “within the framework of justice and transparency.

They said: “You can examine the photos to reflect the truth against one-sided narratives. As stated by our guests themselves, our guests left the hotel room unusable.”

The hotel’s statement laid bare the shocking extent of the room’s destruction, saying: “As can be seen in the attached images, the shower cabin of our room was completely broken, our LCD television was removed and rendered unusable, the outer window of the room was broken by an object thrown from inside, two separate single beds used as a double bed were broken, separated, and rendered unusable, the minibar that we provide in the rooms as standard was broken and rendered unusable, wall-mounted objects and lighting systems used in the room were removed and rendered unusable, the bed linen and towel sets in our rooms were left unusable, there were traces of various drinks and food on the ceiling and side walls of the room, and the room had to be completely painted.”

The statement continued: “The furniture, add-ons, and all kinds of items used in our rooms are specially designed, and within this scope, the repair of our room took approximately one month.”

The hotel also claimed that the room was out of commission for a month, resulting in financial losses. The hotel is now seeking compensation from the customers.

Meanwhile, Georgia has been stuck in Turkey since the incident, unable to return home to her 12-year-old daughter.

“I know I did wrong and I regret being so stupid to have damaged the hotel, but I need to get home to my daughter,” she penned in a GoFundMe post.

“I’m sorry I was scared and I just tried to get away from it by trying to leave. Yes it was the wrong thing to do, but I was scared and not thinking straight.

“Maybe if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be in this mess. I know only I am to blame and my actions are the reason I cannot see my daughter.”
