The dad of a Russian man found dead in a “pool of blood” at the Burning Man festival has called on Donald Trump to order an FBI investigation into his son’s death. Vadim Kruglov’s body was discovered after 9pm on Saturday August 30 in Black Rock City – the temporary site of the festival in northwestern Nevada.

Pershing County Sheriff’s Office launched a homicide investigation into the 37-year-old’s death after confirming his identity. However, Vadim’s dad Igor Kruglov has criticised the local police force for their handling of the probe.

In a video published by Russian media, Igor said: “Evil must be punished, so I’m asking you Mr. President to order the FBI to immediately investigate my son’s murder.”

The grief-stricken father added that he was “counting on the FBI’s professionalism.”

In earlier comments, the Russian dad expressed how “proud” he was of his son who “felt injustice deeply”. Igor said: “Words can’t express my feelings.

“I’m proud of my son, now known worldwide. The world has seen him as he truly was. He felt injustice deeply and fought for fairness always…

“This world is often unfair but, as a peaceful man, I seek justice. I want those responsible to face consequences.”

Kruglov’s have launched a GoFundMe to cover the costs of bringing his remains back to his native Russia and the funeral service. So far, they have raised over $40,000.

They wrote on the fundraiser’s page: “In Loving Memory of Vadim Kruglov. A true hero of Burning Man, Vadim Kruglov, has tragically passed away (confirmed by police at 11:42 p.m., September 2, 2025).

“Vadim poured his soul into our community: building camp, creating art, helping others, and always sharing his kindness and energy. His contributions will forever remain part of the Burn’s history.”

It continued: “Now, we want to honor his memory and support his family. We are raising funds to bring him home to Omsk, so that his parents can say their last goodbye and lay him to rest with his loved ones.

“We ask everyone who knew and appreciated him to contribute. Any support, big or small, means the world.”

After the death was confirmed, Burning Man issued a touching statement on their website, expressing: “Our hearts go out to Vadim’s family and friends and we grieve the loss of a community member.

“Burning Man Project is doing everything we can to assist the Sheriff’s investigation so the perpetrator can be caught and brought to justice. This includes our intent for a coordinated donation to the Secret Witness program, which offers rewards for more information that contributes to law enforcement’s investigation.”
