Despite the miserable weather, weather presenter Lizzie Rizzini certainly brought the sunshine during her usual slot on 6 O’Clock News – with online fans praising her ‘sexy’ outfit choice
Viewers hoping to get a weather update were sidetracked by host Lizzie Rizzini, who donned a “sexy” outfit for her slot on BBC’s 6 O’Clock News.
While delivering the usual weather update of rain and high winds, her outfit choice appeared to bring the heat to online conversation, with some fans claiming it was the highlight of the show. Lizzie donned a skintight denim dress with a zip down the middle. The dress was partially unzipped at the bottom, revealing her leg to the camera.
She completed the look with sleek straight hair and a face full of glamorous makeup. While explaining the contents of yesterday’s (January 28) weather map, she briefly flashed the lace tops of her stockings.
Lizzie has presented on BBC for 14 years and put her best foot forward during her latest appearance. The star had nude stockings on, with a black band visible around her thigh.
The blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment may have been brief, but it appeared to be a highlight for several avid viewers.
Taking to social media, some users expressed their delight. One X fan wrote: “Certainly brightens up dull weather”.
Another added: “Taking our minds of the miserable weather”. A third noted: “Is that a black lace stocking-top I spy on the BBC News Weather?”
A fourth said that they’d never seen “stocking tops on the BBC before”.
However, one viewer was keen to put the discussion to an end. They noted: “Sorry to rain on your parade but suspect they are cycling shorts or thermals”.
Indeed, the weather forecast was bleak but Lizzie, who was previously voted one of the UK’s sexiest presenters, gave a beacon of sunshine for viewers, with one adding: “There is life after Carol Kirkwood”.
Carol, who had been presenting at the BBC for 25 years, this week announced she would be stepping down from her role. Sharing the news on air, she then released a follow-up statement. It read: “It’s been an absolute privilege to bring you the weather every day.
“My job is something I’ve never taken for granted and I’ve loved every minute! From early starts and all manner of forecasts, I’ve shared it with incredible colleagues at BBC Breakfast, BBC Weather and programmes across the BBC.
“I’d like to thank them for their support and friendship which has meant the world.
“And to those watching and listening at home – thank you for all the kindness you have shown me over the years, being part of your mornings has been a joy.
“This hasn’t been an easy decision to make, but it feels like the right moment to step away.
“I’ll carry with me the most wonderful memories.”
