EXCLUSIVE: Twitter’s AI service Grok has come up with an Elon Musk-Santa Claus complete with SpaceX rockets instead of reindeer and tech billionaire-themed Christmas presents
Bah Humbug or Ho Ho Ho? Lovers and haters of tech billionaire Elon Musk will be split by this AI Musk-Santa.
The Daily Star asked the AI tool Grok, a software which can be used on Musk’s social media app X, revealed a modern take on Santa Claus.
“This version of Santa would undoubtedly be a blend of holiday cheer with a dash of futurism,” Grok said. “Making Christmas a celebration of both tradition and the possibilities of tomorrow.”
Grok said the billionaire-Santa shows “innovation over tradition” by showing a SpaceX rocket-propelled sleigh instead of a more traditional magic reindeer form.
“The sleigh could be designed for speed and efficiency, ensuring all gifts are delivered before dawn,” Grok said, because nothing says festive cheer quite like efficiency.
“Musk as Santa would likely focus on gifts that promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM),” the AI bot said.
“You might find children unwrapping DIY science kits, drones, or books on space exploration rather than traditional toys. There might also be an emphasis on sustainable and educational gifts, like solar-powered gadgets or coding games.”
As for hard working elves getting a pay rise in line with inflation, Grok has other ideas. Get rid of the elves and use AI and robots.
“Known for his intense work ethic, Musk’s Santa would probably have a very streamlined operation, possibly employing AI or robotics for the logistics of gift delivery,” Grok said. “The workshop might resemble a high-tech factory more than a quaint toy-making facility, with elves trained in advanced manufacturing techniques.”
Grok also said Musk-Santa would use “social media or satellite communications to interact with children around the world”, maybe to stream “live from space or the North Pole to share updates on his progress or to educate about space”.
There are further AI shenanigans from Musk-Santa, who could wear a black turtleneck instead of a Santa suit, lecture about the future of humanity instead of simply saying “Ho Ho Ho” and moving his North Pole base to Mars.
Grok said: “Given Musk’s interest in Mars, he might decide the North Pole isn’t far enough. He could jest about moving the operations to a Martian base, or at least setting up a satellite workshop there for interplanetary gift distribution.”
The SpaceX boss is also now a direct rival to OpenAI, with Mr Musk having created his own AI firm – xAI – which has created Grok, a chatbot designed to take on ChatGPT.
