To any idiot who says "it will take away from the fan experience", what seats at EVERY game are the most full? The area behind home plate. WHERE THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN NETTING! It takes a grand total of 1 pitch to forget the netting is even there. Hell, I live where the "netting" is 40 foot high chain link fencing. It only takes one pitch to forget it's there. There is zero justifiable reason to not have netting covering ALL of foul territory. No fan is entitled to a foul ball or an autograph. When you buy a ticket, you are entitled to watch a ball game. That's it. Safety first.

I guess I'm in the minority. I don't think nets should be mandated. It is common knowledge that depending on where you sit you may be hit. People bring their gloves to try and catch a ball, which makes it a really fun experience. The problem is people no longer pay attention. They are on their phones and not watching the game. I'm not against netting to the foul post but I guarantee even after the MLB mandates this. Someone will get hit by a home run and they will call for netting around the whole stadium

So you’re telling me people buy seats in the hot corners and then don’t pay attention and then are surprised when themselves or a child gets smoked by a line drive… Here’s an idea put an age restriction on those seats and make it mandatory that people who buys those seats must bring gloves… I mean to put up the netting I feel like it takes away from the experience when I younger about 6 or 7 Mark Maguire picked me and a few other kids to come play catch with him during pre game warm ups and to this day I still have that autographed baseball it’s an experience I’ll never forget and that people will miss out on if you put a net around the fans that’s how you disconnect them
