Still a lot cheaper and a lot more effective than Anthony Rendon
Yankees don’t have a true budget. Budgets are for people who can’t afford something I’m not gonna blame Brian Cashman for acquiring Stanton. I’m going to blame how Steinbrenner for not acquiring other players, such as Manny Machado.
I never liked this trade from day one he’s been on the aisle way too much he strikes out way too much and they got them how many championships have they won? How many times did they get to the championship game soldiers we have a couple home runs he hasn’t won anything yet And they’re going to give them 32 million next year 32 million a year and the year after that that’s a lot of money you could be spending on a bunch of young guys that can hit and can run if Billy Martin was the manager the other day when he did that half ass jog he would’ve been benched and that’s what they don’t do. I don’t mentioning his guys.
Awesome video coming from a Sox fan!!!
Head of the 5-tool player? Stanton is a 1-tool player.
Why are you talking about Stanton's bad stats? If only Stanton or the Yankees could suspend you for talking negative.
Me and my best friend are both diehard Yankee fans. When they made this deal we both said “great, A-Rod all over again”
It's pretty astonishing that after most of the mega contracts we've seen sour so quickly, their still doing it. The other hard to believe appeal is for muscle bound players, where their defense is mediocre & their hitting is Homer or bust. On top of that their almost always on the D.l. with muscle pulls.
Watching this made my day. It was like sunbathing in paradise.
Dang, good video
We knew there would be some bad years with that contract—we just didn’t know they would come so quickly. The guy is only 33 and runs like he’s 60! The problem is Hal throwing up his hands and saying “oh well, we already spent our money.” The bottom line the Yankees are using the luxury cap as a defacto salary cap.
Fire Cashman, they need a reset from the top down!
All this highlights is just how pathetically exposed Brian Cashman really has become at GM of this organization over the years. And to suggest to anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together that he will NOT be let go after this nightmare of a baseball season (the worst by far in decades) is the height of idiotic stupidity and a slap, spit, punch, kick, and great insult to all yankee fans period. Smdh.
The Yankees got Stanton for nothing off an MVP-like season, and the Marlins even agreed to pay a chunk of the salary. That's tough to pass up for anyone. I dunno how the yankees have the second highest payroll. I mean they have Cole, Judge, and Torres, and Stanton I guess. Everyone else on that team sucks. I guess Rizzo doesn't help.
N i thought the arod contract was bad. Were relieved to get out of that to get back in one.
He was such a “loss”
The fact Cashman decided to trade for Stanton 1 year before Harper wanted to sign with the Yankees is wild. Cashman really F’d up.
You pay these athletes this kind of money and you empower them NOT to play. These are meaningless stats.
DONT BLAME STANTON GEORGE WOULD HAVE HAD THEM ALL
THeirs another guy who creams the ball every time he hits it but always gets out lol. Cant think of his name though.
I think after age 35 players should be paid according to their production not according to what they did when they were in their 20s. All these long term contracts given out to players into their 40s is ridiculous. Getting paid millions to be half the player you were but get a guaranteed money is mind blowing.
