Not sure why all the criticism towards Hislop. Van Dyjk was a reasonable candidate. Quite hard for a defender to win it for some strange reason. He s clearly the no. one defender in the world. And Messi is clearly the best attacker. Both are good choices.

Balon dor really depends on how you look at it.. and players playing in different positions are extremely hard to compare with each other. Like if you put messi into a CD position he’s gonna be so much worse than van dijk and vice versa. Messi as a goalkeeper would be so much worse than Ter Stegen and vice versa. So how is messi better football player than van dijk?? Oh.. well.. he’s not… at least not in CB position. So i find it really difficult to choose. However, if i could pick a team out of all the football players one by one (like picking 2 teams at school) then probably my first pick would be messi:D And later on i would try to get van dijk as well:) so that would be my criteria of choosing the best player – the first pick into my personal team.

Virgil…umm…in Liverpool team every player is performing but in Barcelona Messi single handedly carrying the team forward. For Messi, it is not only about goals n assists. It is overall play making. He is performing on every front, he is midfielder, striker, creator except defending.
