The main reason their poverty rate is so high, is because there are millions of illegals in California. They pay no taxes. They contribute nothing. The taxes are for infrastructure and other things. Taxes can create better jobs and more jobs. And there's thousands more at the border wanting to disappear in California. And they, California, still expects to receive government aid. But as a santuary state, they are breaking the law. And believe me, they are creating a santuary state. I lived there from 1988 to 2001. When I was there every street sign, the names of every road, were in Spanish! Even back then, they catered to illegal immigrant's. Not the Hispanic citizens. I'm thankful I left. I've heard many people are leaving there. I hope so. The states poverty will lead to more homelessness and more crime.
