Boris sounds convincing, but he must know as well as I do ,that Customs Union = hard border ( no matter how he dresses it up ) and it effectively breaks the Agreement that put an end to violence .
Is he playing games ,fooling people ,or does he simply not know what hes doing ? -
So Boris has shown the EU intent to move away from the Customs Union (their greatest Fear) while the EU have shown objections to democratic consent. The republican's have also shown that the GFA is dead in reality as they can't accept power sharing which is a key component. That and the fact that they haven't decommissioned all their weapons even now shows the true agenda.
Not going to well for Ireland and EU reputation outside of Europe really. A European Empire without democratic rights? Nah couldn't happen…could it?

I suspect the majority of the British Nation just wants this debacle over. Many voted for Brexit because of their perception that Europe was dictating to them, it appears little has changed. The interesting part will be how the £14.5 gross which Britain currently pays to the EU will be funded, given that the majority of the EU draw out more than they pay. The French and Germans, the other 2 highest payers, already have a significant "National Front" presence, this will only add fuel to their fire.
