Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting has hit out at the International Boxing Association for their ‘ridiculous’ attempts to ban her from competition after securing an Olympic bronze medal.

The boxer has been at the centre of a gender row in Paris over a previously undisclosed gender test, facing false claims that she is biologically male.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) cleared her to compete in the 2024 Games as their eligibility rules are different.

“Of course it annoys you when reading some remarks, but all we can do is tell ourselves we can’t control what they say,” Lin told the Chinese News Agency.

“Let them talk the talk, but I have a clear conscience on this. After all, we have proven it false [the IBA’s test], and the process didn’t follow any standards, but there was still a fuss. I wonder if they were deliberately going after me. I was confused. It was kind of ridiculous.”
