Pogba to Barcelona latest

Barcelona still want to sign Paul Pogba and partner him with Arturo Vidal in their midfield.

That is according to Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

Barca reached an agreement with Bayern Munich over a deal for Vidal on Friday.

They want Pogba alongside the Chilean – but are finding it hard to negotiate with Manchester United.

MD claim agent Mino Raiola has spoken about a move for Pogba but that United are not keen on letting him leave.

And with the Premier League’s transfer deadline closing at 5pm on Thursday, a move for France star Pogba will almost certainly now be put on hold.

Man Utd to keep Martial

Anthony Martial looks all set to remain at Manchester United.

The player returned to training on Friday after taking time off for the birth of his child.

Martial’s absence from the latter stages of United’s pre-season tour of the United States had irked manager Jose Mourinho.

The France international wants to leave United and has Bayern Munich, Tottenham and Chelsea as suitors.

But the Mirror say United will not sell this summer because they have no time to find a replacement.

Yerry Mina latest

Everton are set to walk away from their pursuit of Yerry Mina, leaving Manchester United in the hottest to sign the defender.

United and Barcelona are in talks over Mina and the centre-back is tipped to compete a £35m transfer.

Everton had wanted the Colombia international but the Liverpool Echo say they have now given up on that dream.

The Toffees are reluctant to get into a bidding war with United, who are determined to sign a defender before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Moves for Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld are on the back burner as United focus in on Barcelona’s 23-year-old, who scored three goals at the World Cup this summer.
