People on social media have hammered Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for missing a last-minute penalty in the north London derby.

Arsenal had the chance to win the match in the 90th minute when Davinson Sanchez was adjudged to have fouled the Gabon international.

But Aubameyang’s spot-kick was tame and Hugo Lloris was able to make a comfortable save which rescued a point for Tottenham.

Considering Unai Emery’s side could have closed the gap on their rivals to one point, people were not happy that the Arsenal striker missed.

One person said: ‘What an atrocious penalty. Smash it straight down the middle. No keeper would stand still in the 90th minute. Shocking!’

Another said: ‘Such a bad penalty from Aubameyang. What a waste.’

The comments continued as someone said: ‘Sick to my stomach with Aubameyang’s missed penalty! Sensed it before he kicked it!’

Someone did feel sorry for the Arsenal forward: ‘You’re still the king. Don’t worry @Aubameyang7.’

Lloris was at fault for Chelsea’s first goal against Spurs in midweek but went from zero to hero on Saturday.

One person said: ‘I will never criticise Lloris again oh my god.’

Another added: ‘Our feelings for Lloris are up and down like a yo-yo. I guess you could say he has our fan base on strings.’

Jan Vertonghen made an excellent block to clear the ball off the line when Arsenal tried to score a rebound and people on social media were impressed.

One said: ‘Forget the save as the penalty was poor but that was a MONSTER block afterwards. Stuff like that decides careers.’
