You heard that right. There is a The Summer I Turned Pretty movie coming up, because three seasons was apparently not enough. Obviously, you’ll want to know everything.

The third and (we thought) final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty ended with Conrad flying to Paris to surprise Belly and the two of them getting back together. At the end of the episode, Belly tells Conrad that she chooses him of her own free will. Meanwhile, back in Cousins, Jeremiah is finding success in his new career as a chef. Belly tells us that she doesn’t go back to Cousins immediately, but eventually she does, and the implication is that she and Conrad settle down there together. This feels like it’s supposed to be the end but, apparently, it’s not quite!

The same day that the finale episode aired, September 17, Amazon Prime announced that there will be a The Summer I Turned Pretty movie, which will continue the story. The show was based on Jenny Han’s trilogy of books, but the movie is new territory. Here’s what we know.

Who is writing the script?

It wouldn’t be The Summer I Turned Pretty without its creator, Jenny Han. The Amazon press release confirms that Han will be writing and directing the fourth and (as far as we know) final installment.

What will the movie be about?

We have very few details so far, only that there is one more stage in Belly’s life that Han would like to explore. “There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

As for what that milestone could be, your guess is as good as ours. Maybe Belly will finally get that dream wedding she was trying to plan.

Who is returning from the show’s cast?

According to People, both Lola Tung as Belly and Christopher Briney as Conrad are set to return for the film. As for whether Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah), Sean Kaufman (Steven), or Rain Spencer (Taylor) will also be back remains to be seen.

When does the movie premiere?

It’s too early to know when the movie might premiere, but we’d bet you can expect to wait for at least a year.

This post will be updated.
