Jennifer Lopez proves wide-leg jeans are still that girl in 2026.

Though baggy, oversized denim of various iterations have dominated the fashion space over the past few seasons, there’s been a pivot towards slimmer straight-leg and bootcut styles among celebrities and style experts in fall 2025. While we’re not quite in skinny jean territory just yet (though they’re certainly not the faux pas they once were), it seems ’90s nostalgia no longer has celebrity stylists in a chokehold as current trends bring us closer and closer to a full-on 2016 fashion and beauty revival.

But here at Glamour, we don’t believe in chucking out our favorite pieces for the fickle whims of the fashion elite. So, how do you work your collection of baggy denim into your wardrobe without looking like you’re stuck in last year’s trend cycle? Look no further than wide-leg denim queen, Jennifer Lopez.

On January 14, Lopez stepped out for lunch in Beverly Hills wearing one of her biggest pairs of jeans yet. The way she styled her faded denim, however, was so classic it could hardly be described as trendy or outdated. Treating her jeans like trousers, Lopez went full academia in a tailored brown herringbone blazer layered over the striped oxford and chocolate V-neck sweater tucked into her sweater, topping everything off with a brown leather belt.

Overall, the jeans brought a relaxed energy to the formal office look, as did her large Christian Dior bag. Her accessories, of course, were all peak J.Lo, from her oversized aviators to her towering stiletto boots.

So, what have we learned about styling wide-leg denim this winter and spring? Pair them with classic wardrobe staples, but don’t be afraid to add your own personal touch. That way, you’ll never look out of place—or time.
