Settle down, class is in session. Bella Hadid has turned her trip to Aspen into a daily lesson in dressing for spring 2026, and there will be a quiz later. On today’s syllabus, Hadid and stylist Mimi Cuttrell mapped out the best way to style a pair of white jeans in the new year, from the ideal silhouette to the perfect boot combination.
The first step is finding the right pair of white denim to serve as the foundation for the entire look. While wide-leg jeans have dominated the past few seasons and Hadid’s own Aspen wardrobe has largely centered upon the ‘70s flare, Hadid opted for a pair of relaxed ‘90s mid-rise jeans that taper towards the ankle, similar to Dakota Johnson’s beloved cigarette jeans but with a bit more give. Most importantly, she opted for a thick, sturdy denim that won’t show panty-lines or what’s inside her pockets, even in egg-shell white. (If you’re looking to meet all these requirements, you can’t go wrong with Levi’s 501 ‘90s jean.)
Once you’ve got the perfect pair of white denim, you can move on to styling them. On January 1, Hadid proved black-and-white is still the all-time chicest combo, pairing her ecru pants with a simple white long-sleeve t-shirt with, a collarless black leather jacket, and all-black accessories; including every straight jean’s best friend, the heeled ankle bootie.
While ankle boots saw a bit of a resurgence towards the end of 2025, we’re about to see their rightful domination of footwear trends in 2026. As we mover further away from wide-leg silhouettes towards straight-leg styles, ankle boots are the most serviceable option for a more streamlined, elevated look than one can get with a pair of Sambas or by attempting the Gen-X boot tuck with your go-to pair of cowboy boots.
Of course, that did not deter Hadid from infusing a touch of her cowgirl aesthetic into her latest look, opting for a black belt with a Western-inspired gold buckle. Still, the rest of her accessories were more Clueless than Breaking Free, as she finished off her look with a leopard-print shoulder bag, classic pair of oval sunglasses. Finally, she added a black resin headband, giving her hair some Bumpit-level volume in the back.
