Stacey Bendet has always lived a wildly colorful life. The mastermind behind Alice + Olivia launched her line in 2002, not long after a fashion buyer spotted her on the streets of LA, wearing striped upholstery fabric she’d fashioned into pants. Bendet was soon designing the sparkly frocks, kitschy clutches and eye-catching shades that have made her famous with stylish — and whimsical — women on the go. Her day-to-night wardrobe staples quickly earned her an impressive celebrity following, including powerhouses Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. When the bicoastal CEO and creative director isn’t overseeing a sartorial empire that’s now sold in 35 countries, she’s hanging with her husband (film exec Eric Eisner) and three kids, while still doing yoga on the daily. Here are the treasures that keep Bendet’s world delightfully vibrant.
“I wear mostly vintage, but I do love Anabela Chan rings, which are made with ethically made stones. Her ‘Cinderella’ ring is my favorite.”
“My passion this spring is all things neon!”
“Esther Wojcicki is my idol! Her entrepreneurial approach to teaching and parenting is so inspiring. I pre-ordered 10 copies of her book, and I am sending them to friends as Mother’s Day gifts!”
“I’ve been trying celery juice in the afternoons! I hate it, but I’m giving the trend a try.”
“As a longtime Ashtanga fan, this book is next on my reading list.”
“This Haas brothers mushroom is entirely beaded by women in Africa. It’s currently in my office, and it makes me smile every time I see it!”
“I started making bell bottoms, and I am forever a bell-bottom girl! I love our wide-leg and boot-cut pants for spring in neon yellow and poppy red.”
“I put Sunday Riley night oil on every night before bed, and it makes your skin incredibly soft.”
“I have been practicing Ashtanga yoga for 16 years, and it’s the way I start every morning!”
“I love Jenny Mollen — her @DictatorLunches Instagram series is filled with fun ideas to get your kids to eat something besides pizza!”
