Vincent Kompany’s side come up against Sheffield United in a must-win clash between two sides who currently sit in the Premier League’s relegation spots.

After having won and lost against Sheffield last season, Kompany was excited about the prospect of today’s match.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: ‘I think we’ve been on a row of good performances but we haven’t had the points. We’re really looking forward to this game and it’s a battle that we want to win.

‘It’s going to be like last year in the championship.

‘Sheffield we know were our biggest opponent last season. And we’ve come up showing some good signs and have the same challenges. And now we get to face each other.

Mikel Arteta has finally spoken on why he chose to drop Gabriel from his squad at the start of the season.

The Brazilian started the campaign on the bench for Arsenal but has since come back in to become a key figure in Arsenal’s squad.

He’ll start today for the Gunners but Arteta spoke yesterday on the decision that had left many fans scratching their heads.

‘It’s about form, it’s about how you are playing, it’s about how you are behaving and you have to earn it every single day, because you know somebody else is next to you and wants to take your place and deserves to take your place.

‘Sometimes you just need to sit down on the bench and realise things and then suddenly you become a much better player.’

And lastly, Sheffield United have made three changes following their defeat by Bournemouth last week.

Anel Ahmedhodzic, John Fleck and Oli McBurnie will all start with McBurnie set to lead the line alongside Cameron Archer.

Jayden Bogle, Vini Souza and James McAtee all drop to the bench.

One change for Vincent Kompany’s side today as Jacob Bruun Larsen comes in for Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

Two changes for Rob Edwards’ side following their 2-1 win against Crystal Palace – their first Premier League home win of the season.

Alfie Doughty has not been selected for the matchday squad after he sustained an injury in training.

He’ll be replaced by Andros Townsend who starts on the bench.

Issa Kabore steps up to the starting line-up with Tahith Chong coming into midfield.

On his selections, Edwards said to Sky Sports: ‘A tough call. Chong has been brilliant when he comes on. but i just feel Chong’s quality is what’s needed today.’

On getting the win today: ‘Every game poses different challenges. Brentford are an incredibly well organised team and it’s been our message all week.’

Speaking on today’s opposition he expects Brentford to play a ‘high tempo style. They’ll try and keep the ball going for the full 100 minutes.’

One change for Thomas Frank’s side, Neal Maupay comes in to make his first start in the last three games with Saman Ghoddos to the bench.

Gary O’Neil has made four changes from the side that suffered defeat to Fulham last week.

Dawson, Bueno, Doyle and Traore all come into the starting XI with Hwang and Cunha starting up top.

It looks like the English manager has re-arranged his team from a back three to a back four with Dawson coming back into defence.

Arsenal make one change from their Champions League victory against Lens and it’s goalscorer Kai Havertz, who makes way for Leandro Trossard.

Thomas Frank’s side come into today’s match against Luton off the back of two defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal.

A late goal from Kai Havertz saw the Bees suffer a disappointing late defeat to Mikel Arteta’s side, but they managed to frustrate the Gunners during the game, with Frank claiming after the game that either side could have won the match.

Despite that they sit 11th in the table having won four and lost five of their opening Premier League fixtures, winning three of their last five.

They are a tough side to beat at home, but they face a difficult opponent in Luton today, who sit just outside the relegation zone, but come into this match, buoyed by a 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace.

The newly promoted side have also claimed draws against Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in recent weeks, with their previous win coming away against Everton at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Wolves have both arrived at the Emirates.

Speaking ahead of today’s fixture, Vincent Kompany told reporters that despite his side’s poor form, he still has belief that he can guide Burnley out of trouble.

‘Statistics are just statistics,’ he said. ‘To me, that’s not why I’m doing the job. If I wanted to take away the risk of this happening maybe I would make different choices in life. For me I’m in it for everything that goes with it.

‘No matter what happens, when the story of this gets written however many years from now this is just part of it. I believe in myself a lot as well. That’s the truth of it.’

Yet, they’ve struggled in recent weeks in the Premier League, and pressure is starting to mount over his position at the club.

In the past, plenty of managers have already been sacked by this stage of the season, but Mail Sport’s Ian Ladyman believes Kompany should not be the first manager to be dismissed this season.

While fixrtures around the EFL and FA Cup have been postponed due to adverse weather conditions, the sun is shining today at Turf Moor and the conditions are primed for a fast flowing game.

Burnley and Sheffield United have not played eachother in the Premier League since 2021, but both sides claimed wins off eachother in the Championship last season.

In fact, in their last five meetings, both sides have secured two wins against eachother, sharing the spoils in their only other meeting.

Last time out at Turf Moor, Burnley claimed a 2-0 win against Sheffield with Johann Berg Gudmundsson netting a brace.

It’s a big game for the under-pressure manager who’s side have lost all five of their last outings in the Premier League and sit bottom of the table having just won one game.

Questions have been raised over his tenure as the Clarets manager, but today they can rise above Sheffield to 18th in the league and take points away from Paul Heckingbottom’s side, who sit two places ahead of them on five points.

Arsenal will need to guard against complacency today as they come up against a very dangerous Wolves side.

Gary O’Neil’s side are currently mid-table and despite coming into this match off the back of a 3-2 defeat by Fulham, the Wanderes have claimed some big results of late, including a 2-1 win against title rivals Tottenham and another 2-1 win against defending champions Man City.

The Gunners have won four of their last five meetings against the midlands outfit, who have scored in 12 straight Premier Leagues, winning four, drawing three and losing five.

The man Arsenal will need to watch today is Wolves forward Hwang Hee-Chan who has nine goal contributions in the Premier League this season, second only in the competition to Mohamed Salah.

It’s been a tale of two sides this week for Mikel Arteta’s side, grinding out a 1-0 win against Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium, before trouncing Lens, scoring five goals in the first half of their 6-0 win.

They currently sit one point clear of City and Liverpool at the top of the table and can put some more distance between their title rivals.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsdale made his return between the sticks against Brentford, and while he did look a little shaky, kept a clean sheet during the match.
