I’ve thought all winter that pitchers will hit astros, and then immediately beam them during the pick off. First baseman will step back from the bag in pick off motion and get into ground ball position 5ft behind the runner being hit. Wouldn’t be surprised if they try to get them in a pickle situation and then just hit them there too.

I think the Astros will have tk answer for the cheating. As the parent of high school baseball player (yes I know that is nothing like the MLB) I see how they handle strife. I also think that there will be more then their normal share of bench clearing brawls. The new pitchers rule is crazy. I hope it doesn't come to the pros. As for pine tar I think it should be done away with. I heard a rumor that they might put the DH in the National league. Have you heard that? I hope they don't. I hate the DH.

If pitchers try to ping a runner on the base purposely then they risk an errant ball taking off into RF and maybe a run later in the inning. Sure they can try it but if they did they'd be stupid jocks, wouldnt they?
