I know Bill Gates is a computer genius but I totally disagree with him about the average person and philanthropy. The average person doesn't have the time or the money to do any good works for anybody other than his or her own family. You can also be like me, a former do-gooder: After high school I was coerced into joining the Navy in 1973 by two violent, corrupt lawyer parents. Thinking that I might make something good out of bad situation, I volunteered to be a medic or medical aid worker for the Navy. Bad mistake. Since 2001, dozens of sleazy old lower-class men and others associated with the military have done nothing but shit on me, literally stalk and harass me all over the world, and repeatedly lie to other people about me. I might have done CPR on some of those people. Don't help them. Much of this criminal activity took place in Sarasota, Florida and Fayetteville, Arkansas. I've reported all this to law enforcement and other government officials numerous times. As far as I know they've done absolutely nothing about any of it. Some of them are apologists for it. I cannot get an attorney in the US for this. As a matter of fact, I can't get an attorney for much of anything in this country. In 2007 two Missouri police officers assaulted me in my own apartment, laughing about it, and I couldn't get a lawyer for that either. They said they worked for my now-deceased mother. In 2012, three deputies showed up at my apartment in Florida banging on the door, guns drawn, at 3 o'clock in the morning. I was sound asleep. They said they were looking for somebody else, but it sounded very fishy. I've been trying to move out of this country for years, but I can't get adequate health insurance in another country because of my age. I hate it here; I always have. Some of the courts here are a joke, with judges accepting false affidavits, lies and falsehoods, which they don't even bother to verify. None of it. Some accept phone calls from strangers, unknown lawyers and others, who influence their decisions in pending cases. I should have left when I got my degree in '82. It's just gotten worse. The US has more people in prison than any country in the world. It might not be official military policy, but it is military veterans and VA workers perpetrating it. American civilians in healthcare are also a big part of the problem. They flout the law all the time like the spoiled pricks most of them are. Nobody is enforcing privacy law or anti-stalking law. Good luck getting a restraining order without an attorney to socialize with the judge. American football and right-wing politics are popular topics.

well, I have always admired Bill Gates but I just don't support his support of spreading or promoting aborting. I'm actually on board with birth control. And I'm actually somewhat onboard with limiting population growth. He could easily do a lot more to support adoption as opposed to abortion.
But I do thank him for what he has given away. I just think his intents sometimes cause bad things that maybe he doesn't think about.

When I was young and Bill was for a long long time the richest Man on earth, I always admired his ability to make this money and was envy. Today Bill not the richest anymore and probably won't be in this lifetime. But there is no other Rich person that fascinates me so much. He really is just smart and eloquent.

K-12 education in the US and now in Canada is an attrocity, a crime, a despicable failure of market thinking. I worked on curriculum development for math and physics and the kids aren't dumb; the teachers aren't bad; the curriculum is effin HORRIBLE. And everyone is to blame. They have these idiotic principles of faith like – public education means everything is provided for by the public, so then the kids can't he told to have their parents buy books, instead the books have to be supplied, in some cases 20 yrs old. It is retarded. It means if you happen to get a shitty teacher you're screwed. Whereas if there was a common core as Gates says, the way it is in Europe and Asia, then the kid could study from the textbook and not get screwed by a crappy teacher. And the social justice shit is the next big issue. They have changed curriculum in Canada to teach "indigenous science" – superstitions.

I watch this and see you struggling for breath now and again, and you're what just 63 years old. You a great man and you've done some truly good work.
