Make her a cake or dessert as fabulous as she is. A frothy coconut cake from Alison Roman or a labor-of-love Russian honey cake from Samin Nosrat would delight her. On the simpler end of things, there is always chocolate cake, lemon bars, chocolate chip cookies or Key lime pie. For the truly time-starved, may we suggest truffles or this one-bowl sugared shortbread? (If Mom’s a citrus fan, use your fingers to work in a tablespoon of fresh lime or lemon zest into the sugar before dusting the top of the shortbread.) Here are many more easy ideas.
