I recently saw the F1 channel's preview of the Hanoi circuit, digitally rendered. Lots of pointless S corners and one long straight, standard Tilke fare–and narrow as hell, of course, as a street circuit. I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised by Baku, because I thought that would be a disaster and it's actually put up very good races thus far (yes, even the first one that everyone remembers as a snore-fest; I seem to remember some action, but that might have been a first-lap incident, so I don't know). But the only benefit to street circuits is saving the money it takes to build a permanent track, which does absolutely nothing for fan interest. If you have to get a new race rather than bring back a traditional European track (Imola's absence is a disgrace to the calendar), at least build a permanent facility. Even if we dislike it, at least it will be more interesting than a street course.

F1 is only looking for more money so that the rich can get richer. They don't care about heritage, and that there are good circuits in Europe and other places. Turkey had a good track, the track in India was an Ok track. Building more tracks in communist counties will not help anyone except they people profiting on Formula 1.
Please stop the bullshit and focus on the racing. -
