This is so sad, but not for the reasons most people will think. It is sad because the producers of this video are perpetuating the mindset that creates the situation she is in. What is promoted is more dependency on someone other than self. No, she shouldn't have to raise a child alone on $7.50 an hour. However, the more important "shouldn't" outweighs that one. Like…shouldn't have unprotected sex with someone who's not committed to building and raising a family with you. Raising her wage is a Band-Aid. You can't just do that for her. When you do that "on the large" it eventually just devalues the dollar. Prices would again rise and then $10.00 (or whatever) would have the same value as $7.50. Currency has no value except what's given to it by the market economy. Where the value needs to increase is in her recognition of her worth as a human being, her abilities, gifts and talents. She needed to know that she was valuable enough to wait to start a family with a man who was working and demonstrating that he was ready, willing and able to support, protect and love her. Unfortunately, she didn't recognize her own value. It probably didn't start with her.

Solve the problem by cutting government spending so we can have money to increase production while lowering prices. Everything will be cheaper and more productive and we won't have to work so hard for a living. Cut taxes on the government programs that time and time again fail, because the government is crap at its job. People on their own will make more money than the government (taxpayers) could ever give them, so long as a free market exists without an overextended government.

6.5 was minimun wage in korea few years ago. its now 7.5 an hour.

If I work 10 hours overtime for a 50 hour check, I make $800 for the week. 25% of that goes for income tax. The whole system is not fair.

She could make way more money being a server, bartender, and even promote to mgr. Servers make really good money if u hustle. She could possibly work less hours, make more money, and be able to take care of herself and son. She will also have cash in her hand everyday. Sis can do better if she knows her options. I wish I could talk to her. At least she is doing the very best she can. It's hard for moms bc of childcare availability. She has a roof, food to eat, a job, custody of her child, and she's not lacking. That's all a woman and mom can do. She will get into a better situation. She's just a lit depressed and has a right to be with all she's facing.

Why do people settle for $7.50 jobs? Every job I had as a student, from waiting tables to washing dishes, paid me at least $10. That's not a large amount either but it's a helluva lot better for literally no difference in job. It's literally just choosing between making more or less.

What a warped sense of justice this generation has. This women earns a truly meager income ($6200 / yr) but draws nearly TWICE that amount in total benefits – food, housing, child care, health care. She and millions like her are a drain on the economy. Working people have to pay for her standard of living by the government confiscating (taxing) the money that they earn. Not fair. When hard-working Americans rose early to rush to work each day, did she spend her time partying and conceiving a child? Determination, discipline, higher IQ, and higher education correlate with higher income. She could have chosen to attend college rather than getting pregnant – by a felon mind you. Again, not a smart idea. Who pays for her bad judgment?Also, the purpose of a corporation, even those that earn billions, is primarily to earn a profit for owners and shareholders, not to fund welfare programs or social experiments. I can hear this woman implicitly blaming corporations, "the system", or anyone else but herself. She did not mention one regret in her life or any action that she would have done differently in hindsight. This is a walking, talking example of entitlement mentality.

I don't want to sound mean but the fact the she can't get a better job is not because of President trump, I used to work at McDonald's as well but I was able to get out of that by looking for better jobs, not by waiting for a raise, I'm sorry but she is just playing victim here

I choice to not have kids right now. I can only manage myself and my bills. I work 13 hours a day. I hope she finds a better job. I focus on myself and I own my own house and I have a car. I am looking towards my future.
