The former Liverpool star has been embroiled in scandal after being caught on camera spitting towards a family of Manchester United supporters after Saturday’s game at Old Trafford.

And he’s faced hefty criticism, particularly on social media, with plenty of claims he should lose his punditry job at Sky Sports.

Carragher had been due to appear alongside fellow Monday Night Football regular on tonight’s coverage of Manchester City’s trip to Stoke.

However, Sky News have revealed on Twitter that the 40-year-old will not be in the studio this evening.

“Sky News understands former England footballer Jamie Carragher will not appear on ‘Monday Night Football’ on Sky Sports this evening after he was caught on video spitting at a family in their car following Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester United on Saturday,” their tweet read.
