Mariska Hargitay proved Adidas Sambas are still the perfect summer sneakers.
Earlier this week, Hargitay pulled off the ultimate flex, posing in front of the Hudson Theater wearing nearly the same outfit she wore in the posters for her Broadway debut in Every Brilliant Thing. Hargitay switched out her white cardigan for a cropped white button-up, which she paired with similar black mom jeans. She even styled her fresh summer bob with the same middle part and loose, face-framing waves, though she added a pair of square sunglasses to block out the sun and camera flashes.
Nostalgic mom jeans are in the middle of a resurgence for good reason. With their high waistline and relaxed tapered silhouette, these ’80s-inspired jeans are flattering on multiple body types and pretty easy to style with a variety of wardrobe staples and shoes. However, Hargitay taught an advanced lesson by opting for a trickier pair of ankle jeans.
With any shoe that requires a visible sock suddenly off the table, the Law & Order: SVU star was left with few options: Most sandals and boots would throw off the proportions, while heels would instantly create a more formal result. Instead, Hargitay proved that Adidas Sambas are still a celeb favorite for a reason, opting for classic white sneakers with electric blue stripes for an effortlessly cool finishing touch. Problem solved.
