If you’re a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, then the good news is that the PS5 games have a 9am BST UK release time on the morning of May 19. Unfortunately, however, the release has been tainted by the news that PS Plus prices are increasing in the US, Europe and UK beginning on May 20.
The news was announced by Sony on X, alongside confirmation about how much new subscribers will need to pay from May 20.
“Starting May 20, PlayStation Plus prices for new customers will increase in select regions,” Sony explains.
“Due to ongoing market conditions, prices will start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP for 1-month subscriptions and $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP for 3-month subscriptions.
“This price change does not apply to current subscribers (except in Turkey and India) unless the existing subscription changes or lapses.”
The good news is that the price increases only apply to new Essentials subscribers, and doesn’t impact PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
Speaking of which, the new PS Plus Extra and Premium titles also include Broken Sword Shadows of the Templars Reforged, The Thaumaturge, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and Enotria: The Last Song Standard Edition.
That’s on top of atmospheric hidden gem Bramble: The Mountain King, as well as the aforementioned Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Time Crisis is the sole game to join PS Plus Premium.
Needless to say, multiple games will also be leaving PlayStation Plus Extra, so consider this your last chance to play the likes of Control Ultimate Edition.
Other games leaving PS Plus Extra on May 19 include Soulslike Mortal Shell, as well as cult favourite Sand Land, MotoGP 25 and Soul Hackers 2.
Horror fans may also want to fire up and complete two games from The Dark Pictures Anthology, as Little Hope and Man of Medan will both be leaving the service on the same date.
