Flight attendants are urging passengers to stop touching them to get their attention, saying the behavior is one of the most common frustrations they face on the job.

Several veteran flight attendants recently discussed the issue on the “Jumpseat Chronicles” podcast, encouraging travelers to use call buttons or simply speak up when they need assistance.

“We get poked and touched as flight attendants,” co-host Joshua Boyd said — describing it as one of the most persistent issues crew members encounter.

“It happens so often that if we got paid $1 for it, we would be millionaires,” Boyd said.

Instead of physically touching crew members, the flight attendants said passengers should use the call button, make eye contact or politely wave if they need assistance.

Diane Gottsman, a national etiquette expert based in Texas and founder of The Protocol School of Texas, told Fox News Digital that touching a flight attendant violates both personal and professional boundaries.

“Just as you would not touch the passenger sitting next to you, you do not reach out and touch a flight attendant to get their attention,” Gottsman said.

She said passengers should instead make eye contact, offer a friendly wave or use the call button instead of touching or snapping at flight attendants to get their attention.

“A polite and louder than usual ‘excuse me’ may feel a bit bold, but it’s definitely more appropriate than tapping someone on their arm, shoulder, waist or any other part of their body,” she said.

Gottsman noted that passengers are not always aware of what a flight attendant may be dealing with at a given moment.

“Their main focus is the safety of the passengers on the plane,” she said. “Basic etiquette calls for respecting another person‘s job and their personal space.”

“Please use the call button or your voice, but please do not touch us.”

The issue also sparked debate on Reddit, where some travelers agreed passengers should avoid physical contact and rely on call buttons or verbal requests instead.

“I’d love for this to be in an announcement,” one user wrote. “If you need our attention, please use the call button or your voice, but please do not touch us.”

Yet others argued that a light tap on the shoulder is often viewed as a socially acceptable way to get someone’s attention, particularly in a noisy airplane cabin.

“A gentle tap on the shoulder is a pretty common way of getting someone’s attention,” one commenter wrote.

Several travelers also said they worry flight attendants may not hear them when they say “excuse me,” especially on crowded flights.

“My ‘excuse me’s’ definitely fail much more often than they succeed,” one user wrote.

A teacher who had an alleged relationship with one of her students has been accused of slow dancing on the him during his prom and becoming the ‘talk of the school’ after the ‘cookie incident’

Scandalous new details have emerged surrounding an alleged relationship a gym teacher had with one of her students.

A police report has claimed the teacher sent the boy nude photos of her in lingerie and even “slowly danced” on her alleged victim during his prom night as the two were the “talk of the school.” Alisha Crins, 40, was charged earlier this year with two counts of third-degree sexual assault and has pleaded not guilty.

The former educator resigned from her job as a PE and health teacher at Ponaganset High School in Glocester, Rhode Island, US last year after she was accused of sexually assaulting a student. The alleged relationship started while the student was still a sophomore at the school. Text messages and police interviews have started to shed more light on the nature of the alleged relationship between the ex-teacher and student.

The police report revealed the student filed a sexual harassment complaint against the teacher on the same day she resigned in October last year.

The boy, who was 17 at the time of filing the complaint, graduated in the spring of 2024. The report alleged the teacher and the student passed each other gifts as their relationship was flagged to senior members of staff.

The report claimed the alleged victim attempted to send Crins a Valentine’s Day cookie leading to a series of events they dubbed in the report as the “cookie incident.” The teacher revealed to police the alleged victim also handed his former PE teacher a bouquet of flowers during a winter ball back in January 2024. The report said this behaviour was flagged to the school’s principal and vice principal.

Despite this Crins was not reprimanded over the alleged incidents. In the report the ex-educator stated she was forced to resign from her position at the school after texts between her and the student were shown to the superintendent and her husband. Crins’ previous husband filed for divorce after she resigned last year. The police affidavit added the teacher also sent the student salacious pictures of herself in lingerie while the boy was still at the school.

The affidavit added Crins sent the boy nude pics of herself undressed after he graduated. The teacher allegedly admitted she kissed her pupil back in April 2024, after the student drove her back to her neighbourhood. The former teacher is said to have mounted the student in the back seat of the car straddling him while the two of them made out.

According to the affidavit, Crins’ messaged the boy before the alleged kissing incident. One text reads: “I can’t believe I’m going to do this… You can’t tell anybody.” After the suspected kiss in the back of the car the teacher went on to send him a barrage of messages.

In one message she wrote she couldn’t “stop thinking about him” or his lips and added he was a good kisser, the report claims. Alongside this Crins was reportedly seen “slow dancing” on her alleged victim at the boys prom while he was only 17.

One student speaking to the Mail in March stated: “They were the talk of the school.” The student added: “’She was slow dancing with him. It was kind of like she was his prom date. It was just slow dancing, but everyone saw it.”

Crins’ case is currently ongoing as the teacher has been released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. The bond included numerous conditions such as the woman forfeiting her passport to authorities.

The Foster-Glocester Regional School Committee released a statement on the incident stating: “As consistently stated over the past seven months, the district has been cooperating with the attorney general and state police, and is now prepared to move forward with an investigation.”

Apple devices have earned a reputation for being tough to break into. However, a new claim from security startup Calif shows how quickly the cybersecurity world may be changing.

Calif says a small team of researchers used a preview version of Anthropic’s Claude Mythos to help build a working macOS kernel exploit against Apple’s new M5 chip protections in less than a week. A kernel exploit targets the core part of an operating system, which controls how your device runs and what apps can access.

The company says the exploit survived Apple’s Memory Integrity Enforcement, or MIE, a security feature designed to make memory-based attacks much harder on newer chips. The bigger concern is speed. Artificial intelligence may help skilled researchers find serious software flaws faster than ever before, which means scammers and cybercriminals could eventually use similar tools to find weak spots before companies have time to patch them.

Apple M5 AI exploit claim explained

Calif says its researchers built what it describes as the first public macOS kernel memory corruption exploit on M5 silicon with MIE enabled. The company says the attack targets macOS 26.4.1 on Apple M5 hardware.

It begins with a regular local user account and ends with root access. Root access gives someone the highest level of control on a Mac. That could let an attacker change system settings, reach sensitive files or run commands with powerful permissions.

That sounds alarming, but it needs context. Calif described this as a local privilege escalation chain. In everyday terms, an attacker would already need some way to get code running on the Mac first. This type of attack would more likely follow another step, such as a malicious download or compromised installer. Once bad code gets that first foothold, a privilege escalation bug can help it dig much deeper.

Why Apple M5 security protections matter

Memory corruption bugs have been a favorite target for attackers for years. These flaws can let attackers crash software, steal data or take over parts of a system.

Apple’s Memory Integrity Enforcement was designed to make that type of attack far more difficult. Apple says MIE uses hardware-assisted memory safety protections on A19 and M5 processors or later. In simpler terms, MIE helps the chip and operating system check whether software touches memory in suspicious ways. That makes many older attack tricks harder to pull off.

That is why Calif’s claim warrants attention. The researchers say they found a way around those protections with help from Mythos Preview. That suggests AI could speed up the hunt for flaws, even in systems with advanced built-in defenses.

Calif says Mythos Preview helped identify the bugs and assisted throughout exploit development. The company also made clear that human expertise still mattered.

According to Calif, Mythos found the bugs quickly because they belonged to known bug classes. However, bypassing Apple’s new protection required experienced researchers.

Think of it this way: AI helped point the researchers toward weak spots. People still had to understand how to turn those findings into a working exploit. That makes the story more concerning because AI may help skilled teams move much faster.

Mozilla has already seen similar potential. The organization said an early version of Claude Mythos Preview helped identify 271 vulnerabilities fixed in Firefox 150. Mozilla said those findings came during an evaluation of the model’s ability to help with security work.

So the bigger story goes beyond Apple. Advanced AI tools may give security researchers more speed. Those same tools could eventually help attackers search for software flaws faster, too.

Most people do not think about kernel exploits when they open up their laptops. They think about email, work and family photos. That is exactly why this story hits closer to home than it may seem.

If researchers can find high-impact bugs faster with AI, attackers may eventually try to do the same. The unsettling part is the speed. A flaw that once took months to discover might surface much sooner when AI helps scan code and suggest attack paths.

Calif called its work “a glimpse of what is coming.” That may sound dramatic, but the warning is easy to understand. Cybersecurity teams may need AI to defend systems as quickly as attackers use AI to search for weak spots.

However, updates now matter more than ever. Calif says it shared its findings with Apple and plans to release full technical details after Apple ships a fix. That is how responsible disclosure should work. Researchers report the issue first, the company investigates it, and users get a patch before attackers get a roadmap.

We reached out to Apple for comment, but did not hear back before our deadline.

How to protect your Mac from AI-powered attacks

You do not need to become a cybersecurity expert to lower your risk. A few smart habits can make it much harder for attackers to get the access they need.

 

1) Keep macOS updated

4) Use strong Apple Account protection

Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Apple Account. This adds another layer of protection if someone steals or guesses your password.  Also, use a strong, unique password. 5) Keep browsers and extensions updated

Your browser is one of the most common places where attacks begin. Keep Safari, Chrome, Firefox or any other browser updated. Then, review your browser extensions. Remove anything you do not use or do not recognize. A shady extension can track your activity, inject ads or collect sensitive data.

Safari: Open Safari > Settings > Extensions. Uncheck any extension you do not recognize or select it and click Uninstall. Safari extensions update automatically with their apps.

Chrome: Open Chrome > three dots > Help > About Google Chrome to check for updates. To review extensions, go to Chrome > three dots > Extensions > Manage Extensions. Remove anything suspicious or unnecessary.

Firefox: Open Firefox > Firefox menu > About Firefox to check for updates. To review add-ons, go to Firefox > Add-ons and themes > Extensions. Remove anything you do not recognize. Firefox recommends keeping add-ons set to update automatically.

 

6) Watch for fake security alerts

Scammers love fake pop-ups that claim your Mac has a virus. These alerts often push you to download software or call a fake support number. Do not click the warning or call the number on the screen. Close the tab or quit the browser. If you feel unsure, restart your Mac and check for updates through System Settings.

 

7) Back up your Mac

Use Time Machine or another trusted backup method. A recent backup can help you recover if malware damages files or locks you out. Keep at least one backup separate from your Mac. That way, a device problem does not take your backup down with it.

 

8) Restart your Mac regularly

Many people leave their Macs running for weeks. A restart can help clear temporary processes and apply pending updates. A restart will not solve every security problem, but it can help your Mac finish updates and clear out processes that no longer need to run.

Keir Starmer faces more political agony as the government prepares to publish the next wave of files relating to Peter Mandelson’s appointment as US ambassador.

More than 1,000 pages of information will reportedly be released on Monday and could contain embarrassing private exchanges between top ministers and the sacked diplomat. But the Guardian reported the trove of documents will not contain any record to mitigate serious security concerns and flags raised over his appointment.

The Prime Minister agreed to MPs’ demands earlier this year to release the documents relating to Lord Mandelson’s appointment in 2024 after questions over how the peer was vetted and what was known about his links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Mr Starmer has repeatedly apologised to Epstein’s victims over the saga and claimed the New Labour architect lied to him. But the scandal has engulfed his government in recent months, sparked fury among backbench MPs, and called Mr Starmer’s judgement into question.

In February it led to the resignation of his Downing Street chief-of-staff Morgan McSweeney, who was central to Labour’s landslide election victory in July 2024. He said in a statement at the time: “The decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was wrong. He has damaged our party, our country and trust in politics itself.

“When asked, I advised the Prime Minister to make that appointment and I take full responsibility for that advice. In public life responsibility must be owned when it matters most, not just when it is most convenient. In the circumstances, the only honourable course is to step aside.” In April the Prime Minister also sacked the Foreign Office chief, Sir Olly Robbins, after the bombshell revelation that Lord Mandelson was made US ambassador despite failing his security vetting. Last week ex-minister Jess Phillips, who quit the government after Labour’s local elections drubbing earlier this month, said she had “threatened to resign on a number of occasions” over Lord Mandelson’s appointment as ambassador to the US.

She told BBC Newsnight: “I had to decide whether me, like, shouting my mouth off to make myself feel better was the right thing to do, or if I could use that hurt anger to sweat the assets on violence against women and girls, to get basically half of what is written in the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy actually written into it. Never waste a crisis is always my mantra with regards to Violence against Women and Girls Strategies, but privately, obviously I was horrified just like everybody else.”

The first tranche of documents relating to Lord Mandelson’s appointment was published in March and contained details of how the Labour peer was handed a £75,000 severance payment when he was sacked as the UK’s ambassador to Washington.

A government spokesperson told The Guardian, which reported the documents will be published on Monday: “The second tranche of documents will be among the largest publications ever laid in Parliament. That reflects the transparent and thorough process we have followed, in line with established precedent for humble addresses.” Lord Mandelson was sacked as the UK’s ‘Trump whisperer’ in September last year as new details emerged about his relationship with Epstein. He was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office following claims he shared sensitive information with Epstein. He denies wrongdoing.

“So, when Jaxson gets harassed a little bit, he’s also loved more because we have more people than they do,” Trump said.

Dart faced criticism, even from teammate Abdul Carter, for introducing Trump at the event in Suffern.

“Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of those things,” Carter told reporters on Friday. “Jaxson is one of our leaders. He’s the face of our franchise. He not only represents himself and what he does, but he represents all of us, and that goes for anybody who wears a Giants uniform.

“But if he chooses to align himself with a man like President Trump, it’s my responsibility based on what I believe or what I stand on, to not only show my teammates that I’m against that, but to show the world.”

Dart explained that his upbringing made him feel like meeting the president was the right choice.

“This was a unique opportunity, you know, being asked and given the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States,” Dart said. “My thinking was pretty simple in the fact of, you know, I’ve always loved this country. I have extended family members who have fought wars. I have two uncles who have retired from the Air Force Academy and served themselves. And I even have a great grandfather who served as Secretary of Treasury at some point.

“So the president position has always been a position that I’ve well respected, regardless of political affiliation, regardless of political party and, you know, my intentions were just that.”

Actor Paul Rudd sparked a lighthearted debate about airline etiquette after calling airplane mode “nonsense” during a recent podcast appearance.

Rudd made the comments during an appearance on the May 28 episode of Jake Shane’s podcast, “Therapuss.”

During a conversation about common airline rules, Rudd questioned several instructions passengers are routinely given before takeoff and landing, including putting tray tables away, returning seats to the upright position and switching phones to airplane mode.

“I think all of that is nonsense,” Rudd said.

When Shane specifically asked about airplane mode, Rudd doubled down.

“I know it’s nonsense,” he said.

Shane replied, “I only put it on airplane mode because it’s not going to work either way, so I might as well save the battery.”

Rudd acknowledged that reasoning, but suggested he believes the rule stems from concerns about radio frequencies interfering with the plane’s communications systems.

Rudd may have questioned the rule — but the Federal Aviation Administration is very clear. It requires passengers to place devices in airplane mode or disable cellular connections while flying.

“For safety reasons, it’s best to remain seated unless there is room to comfortably move about,” Diane Gottsman, a national etiquette expert based in Texas, told Fox News Digital.

“Moving into the aisle and trying to push is a definite etiquette faux pas,” she added.

Beyond the discussion about airline etiquette, Rudd also shared one of his favorite memories with wife Julie Yaeger during the podcast.

The actor recalled a spontaneous trip to Atlantic City while Yaeger was pregnant, which unexpectedly turned into what he described as a perfect night.

The couple received a complimentary hotel suite, scored tickets to see the band Boston and won thousands of dollars playing video poker.

“It kept getting better and better and better,” Rudd said.

Rudd and Yaeger have been married since 2003 and have two children, Jack and Darby.

Tomi Reichental was just nine when he was sent to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, he lost 35 family members during the Holocaust before dedicating his life to education and remembrance in Ireland

A Holocaust survivor who saw 35 relatives killed during the horror has died at the age of 90. Tomi Reichental just nine when and his family were deported aged nine to the notorious Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where diarist Anne Frank was imprisoned.

Tomi, who was born in Czechoslovakia 1935, survived until the site was liberated by allied forces in 1945. But 35 members of his family were murdered in the holocaust, in which six million Jews were brutally killed at an industrial scale.

He relocated to Ireland in 1959 and established a fresh life in Dublin, where he brought up his family and devoted considerable time to ensuring future generations would learn from the Holocaust, reports the Irish Mirror.

Speaking to the Irish Mirror about his ordeal in Bergen-Belsen, Mr Reichental said: “The moment we boarded the train, the cattle car, we were like animals that were being transported.

“Seven days of travel, nine years of age, all of it terrifying. Inmates were like skeletons, just skin and bone, walking slowly but it was also we were in the area in the camp where the hospital was situated and when I say ‘hospital’, I mean, they didn’t cure anybody.”

“In fact, the doctor of the camp, after the liberation, there was a trial and he was sentenced to death because there was a whole block filled up with all the medicine that was needed to cure people of typhus, of tuberculosis and diphtheria and he never used it.

“So people are dying like flies because typhus is contagious and once you get it, it is like being sentenced to death if you are not treated.”

In 2011, he released his memoir “I Was a Boy in Belsen”, and featured in two documentaries detailing his experiences as a survivor.

Mr Reichental also dedicated countless years visiting schools across the nation, with thousands of Irish pupils learning about the Holocaust through his firsthand testimonies. The Jewish Representative Council of Ireland stated it is “deeply saddened” by Mr Reichental’s death.

The organisation branded Mr Reichental as one of Ireland’s “most remarkable voices of remembrance, education, and humanity”, highlighting that for decades he shared his witness account with pupils, communities, and audiences throughout Ireland.

“Having survived the horrors of Bergen-Belsen as a child, he dedicated much of his later life to ensuring that future generations would learn from the Holocaust and understand the dangers of hatred, prejudice, and indifference,” they said.

“Tomi was not only a survivor; he was a teacher, a witness, and a cherished member of Irish society. His contribution to Holocaust education and to the fight against antisemitism and racism leaves a lasting legacy.” A memorial service is scheduled to take place at a later date to honour Mr Reichental.

Founder of the Irish Muslim Council, Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri, described Mr Reichental as “a remarkable human being, whose life journey embodied both the tragedy of humanity’s darkest moments and the hope that can emerge from resilience, forgiveness, and compassion”.

He posted on social media: “He consistently spoke out against hate, division, and the dehumanisation that paves the way for violence and atrocity.

“He was also a passionate supporter of Syrian refugees in Ireland. Having experienced persecution and displacement in his own life, he showed immense empathy towards those fleeing war and oppression.

“His compassion for refugees was a testament to his belief in our shared humanity and our collective responsibility to care for the vulnerable.”

He said: “Today, I join people of all faiths and backgrounds in mourning his loss. I am heartbroken by his passing.”

Fans of the classic Catch Me If You Can have only a few days left to watch it on the streaming platform, as it has been confirmed it will leave Netflix on June 3. The 2002 comedy, produced by Steven Spielberg, stars big names including Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, and has an impressive 96% rating on the film review website Rotten Tomatoes.

The synopsis on Rotten Tomatoes reads: “Frank Abagnale, Jr. works as a doctor, a lawyer and as a co-pilot for a major airline, all before his 18th birthday. A master of deception, he is a brilliant forger, whose skill gives him his first real claim to fame.”

It continues: “At the age of 17, Frank Abagnale, Jr. becomes the most successful bank robber in the history of the US. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty makes it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank is always one step ahead of him.”

The comedy has been praised by both critics and viewers over the years, with a number of people putting it in their top five films or even as their favourite.

Many also highlight it as one of Spielberg’s greatest works, with Chicago Reader writing: “Catch Me if You Can is one of those deceptively slight offerings that manages to reveal more about its maker than the intended masterpieces often do.”
