The deputy leader of the Green Party, Mothin Ali, is linked to two buy-to-let properties, despite his party’s opposition to private landlords.

Ali is the sole director of a company, which he set up and controls, that owns two rental properties in Leeds, bought in June 2022 and March 2025 – although he does not appear to profit from either of them.

The property purchases happened before the Greens adopted a policy committing to phasing out ownership of rental properties by private landlords in October 2025.

The Green Party told the BBC that, at the time Ali had set up the company, and since, he “has acted solely in the interests of vulnerable close family members for whom he has caring responsibilities”.

Ali’s connection to the rental properties via real estate company MA Holdings, which purchased them with buy-to-let mortgages, was first reported by the Times newspaper.

Records held by Companies House show that Ali is the sole director of MA Holdings, incorporated in December 2021, and he is listed in the records as the sole person with significant control, owning more than 75% of the shares.

The company’s business includes “buying and selling of own real estate”, “letting and operating of own or leased real estate” and “management of real estate on a fee or contract basis”.

The BBC has spoken to the previous owner and resident of the second property, who confirmed that Ali’s company had purchased the property and believed it was bought with the intention to be let out.

Asked why MA Holdings owns the rental properties, a Green Party spokesperson said: “We have provided deeply personal information to the BBC in confidence which shows that Councillor Ali has acted solely in the interests of vulnerable close family members for whom he has caring responsibilities.

“At Councillor Ali’s request, we are not going to make this information public to protect his family.”

The BBC is not publicising the personal information shared with it, at the request of the Greens, as it relates to private family matters.

In October last year, delegates to the Green Party’s annual conference, passed a motion titled “Abolish landlords”, external, headed “the private rental sector has failed, it is a vehicle for wealth extraction, funnelling money from renters to the landlord class”.

The motion states: “The effective abolition of private landlordism and the private rented sector, coupled with the mass expansion of council housing, is the only way to end the housing crisis.”

This is now official policy for the Green Party of England and Wales, with a plan to increase regulation and taxes on private rentals to make it difficult for landlords to make a profit, while boosting housebuilding by councils.

The policy would use existing Green policies such as imposing rent controls, ending buy-to-let mortgages and giving councils the right to buy a rental property when it is sold at a discounted price.

Asked whether Ali had sought to take any steps since the policy had been adopted to change anything with regard to the rental properties, a Green Party spokesperson told the BBC he fully supported the policy.

“The policy does not literally seek to abolish landlords, but rather to put in more regulations and taxes on private rentals through measures such as rent controls and expanded social housing,” they said. “All of which Mothin Ali supports.”

When the policy was introduced, Green Party MP Carla Denyer told the BBC “while the motion to conference had an eye-catching name, it does not actually ‘abolish’ landlords”.

“It does, however, address the housing crisis, empowers tenants and improves their wellbeing,” she added.

“It contains a range of policies which, over time, would reduce the proportion of the housing market that is privately rented, and increase the proportion of socially rented homes.”

Tom Davies says he nearly ended up in hospital after accidentally overdosing on a fake version of retatrutide. He ordered it from a Chinese supplier after friends at his gym recommended it.

“It was horrendous,” says the 20-year-old from Brighton. “My body felt so under pressure, I was so bloated, it was like someone had dropped a 20kg weight on my stomach.

“For 72 hours I had really bad diarrhoea and nausea. I thought, if this continues I’m going to end up in A&E.”

Tom later realised he had given himself eight times the recommended dose. Depending on what is ordered, copycat retatrutide can arrive needing to be mixed with sterile, bacteriostatic water which requires various calculations.

Dr Nas Khattak, a research doctor based in Chester, has been screening patients for one of Eli Lilly’s Phase III clinical trials. He says those sourcing fake versions are in effect behaving as lab rats without any medical oversight.

“If users who buy it online become their own doctor, they’re taking a huge risk,” he warns.

He says trial participants need to meet strict criteria before they are given the green light to start taking the real drug or a placebo.

“We request their GP record, we make sure that they’re emotionally well. They’ll have suicide, self-harm, mental health assessments – and this is all done by doctors.

“Then we come back and have a look at the blood tests, have a look at everything, and then we think whether they’re suitable or not.”

Tom decided to do more research into dosing and, despite the nasty side effects he’d previously experienced, decided to give his fake version of retatrutide another go. After nine months of taking it in cycles, he says his cravings for sugar and junk food have gone.

Pharmacist Shahid warns that just because a fake version of reta works for one person, does not mean it will “work for the next”.

The obesity drugs currently on the market – the likes of semaglutide (marketed as Ozempic and Wegovy), and tirzepatide (marketed as Mounjaro) – target just one or two hormone receptors. But, if approved, retatrutide will become the first weight loss medication in the world to act on three, giving it the nickname the “triple G”.

What is the OlloNi SS1 AI robot pet?

The OlloNi SS1 is OlloBot’s newest AI companion robot pet, developed by Hong Kong-based Ollobot Robotics Limited. Unlike a robot built mainly for chores, the SS1 is designed to interact with the people and pets living around it.

Two circular eye screens display expressions while a separate main screen handles information and direct interaction. The setup gives OlloNi a face that can react visually without relying on spoken responses every time.

A 4K camera with motion tracking helps the robot recognize individual family members and household pets. OlloBot says the SS1 gradually learns routines and preferences as it spends more time with a household. It also adapts to different communication patterns.

That puts OlloNi in a different category from a robot vacuum or a machine built mainly to handle physical work. The goal here is to make the robot feel increasingly familiar.

OlloNi wants to understand how you are feeling

OlloBot is also giving the SS1 what it describes as proactive emotional interaction. The company says the robot uses several types of information to interpret what is happening around it. That includes someone’s tone of voice and facial expression. It can also learn behavioral patterns over time.

For example, OlloBot says the robot may notice when someone appears to be feeling low. Instead of waiting for that person to issue a command, OlloNi could approach and initiate an interaction.

We recently covered Familiar, another emotionally aware AI robot pet. That robot is also designed to learn routines and react to the people around it. OlloNi takes the idea in another direction by connecting that personalization to a memory system that can survive beyond the original robot.

A 4K camera can capture family moments for you

One feature I can see families using is OlloNi’s 4K camera. With permission turned on, OlloBot says the SS1 can recognize moments such as laughter or celebrations and capture them automatically. Its AI-assisted Vlog feature can then edit the footage and add music to create home videos.

I like the idea behind this. When something memorable happens, someone usually reaches for a phone. That often means the person recording ends up watching part of the moment through a screen.

OlloNi could change that. Because the robot is already moving around the home, it could capture moments while everyone else stays in them.

But this is also where I would start thinking seriously about privacy. You are allowing a connected 4K camera to move around your home and decide which moments may be worth saving.

That is a lot of access to give any device, no matter how cute the robot looks.

OlloNi can become a moving window into your home

OlloNi also supports remote viewing and two-way voice and video calls. Unlike a camera sitting on a shelf, the robot can move around the home and follow activity. OlloBot says this could make remote check-ins feel more active for family members who live apart.

The idea could appeal to someone who wants to stay connected with an older relative or other family members from a distance. OlloBot’s website also says its app can let you see and interact with OlloNi while you are away. The app is designed to show daily moments and memories the robot has captured.

However, remote access raises the stakes for security. A camera that can move around your house deserves strong account protection. Owners should know exactly who can connect to it and what happens if an account gets compromised.

The Red Heart lets OlloNi’s memories live on

This may be the most unusual part of the SS1. OlloBot calls it the Red Heart. The detachable module has 16GB of RAM and 64GB of local storage. OlloBot says the module carries the robot’s long-term memories and personalized information.

Now, imagine replacing the robot several years from now. Instead of starting over, OlloBot says you could move the Red Heart into a future-generation OlloBot. Family memories and personalized information could then follow you to the next device. That is a clever idea. Most gadgets become disposable once their hardware gets old. OlloBot wants the relationship you developed with this one to survive the upgrade.

At the same time, think about how personal that little module could become. Years of family life could potentially be tied to it. That makes the Red Heart something I would want protected every bit as carefully as the robot itself.

OlloNi SS1 privacy deserves a closer look

This is where I would slow down and read the fine print. OlloBot says the SS1 uses local encrypted processing and includes a physical camera cover. The company also says facial recognition and automatic family moment capture work with your permission.

Those are good things to see. Still, a robot that can move around your home, recognize faces and build memories over time deserves more than a quick glance at the privacy settings. OlloBot’s current privacy policy was last updated July 6, 2026. It covers the company’s store and broader services, including device and usage information collected when people interact with those services. The policy also says some information may be handled by outside vendors that provide services such as IT management, data analytics or cloud storage.

What I want to see next is something much more specific to the SS1 itself. If this robot can recognize your family and save moments inside your home, you should know exactly where that information goes. OlloBot should explain what stays on the Red Heart, what leaves the robot and how long anything gets stored.

I would also want a clear answer about deletion. If OlloNi spends years learning your routines and how your family interacts, you should be able to see what it knows and permanently erase that information when you want it gone.

OlloBot’s child privacy language needs clarification

There is another privacy point worth watching. OlloBot’s Aug. 28 announcement lists children separated from their parents by distance among the potential users for the SS1.

Meanwhile, OlloBot’s current privacy policy says its “services are not intended to be used by children.” It also says the company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in the user’s jurisdiction. That does not automatically mean there is a conflict.

The current policy appears geared largely toward OlloBot’s store and broader services rather than offering a detailed privacy framework specifically for the SS1. Still, OlloBot should clarify how those terms apply when a product is designed to interact with families and potentially children inside the home. Parents should not have to guess.

What happens if someone gets your Red Heart?

This is one of the first questions I would ask about the Red Heart: What happens if you lose it? If your family has used OlloNi for years, that little removable module could contain a very personal history of life inside your home.

OlloBot says the SS1 uses local encrypted processing, which is encouraging. What I want to know is what happens when the Red Heart comes out of the robot. If someone finds or steals it, does the information remain encrypted and inaccessible? I would also want a way to remotely erase the module if it disappears.

The whole appeal of the Red Heart is that families could keep it for years and move their memories into a future OlloBot. If OlloBot wants us to hold onto something that personal for that long, I want to know exactly how it will keep those memories protected.

OlloNi also keeps track of its surroundings

OlloNi goes beyond watching the people around it. The robot also pays attention to what is happening inside the home. OlloBot says the SS1 includes temperature and humidity sensors along with ambient light and spatial sensors. That gives the robot more context about its surroundings. The company says those sensors can help with reminders and brief activity records tied to relevant interactions rather than continuous recording.

The OlloNi SS1 crowdfunding launch has been postponed

If all of this has you wondering what the robot costs, there is a catch. You cannot back the planned SS1 crowdfunding campaign right now.

OlloBot previously said it would launch the OlloNi SS1 globally on Kickstarter in August 2026. In July, the company narrowed that window to late August. Then the plan changed.

On Aug. 28, OlloBot announced that it had postponed the crowdfunding launch. The company pointed to recent changes in the U.S. regulatory and market access environment for robotic devices made abroad. OlloBot says it wants a clear path to market and fulfillment before moving forward.

For now, the company has not announced a new crowdfunding date. OlloBot says it will share an updated timeline through its official channels once one is confirmed. So, consider the SS1 a robot to watch rather than one you can order today.

What this means to you

OlloNi SS1 shows how quickly the idea of a home robot is changing. We have spent years watching robots get better at physical work. Now companies want these machines to learn about the people living around them. That changes what you need to consider before bringing one home.

With a robot like OlloNi, start by looking beyond the cute eyes. Find out what its camera records and who can access those recordings. Next, understand the memory system.

You should know what stays locally on the robot and what gets transmitted elsewhere. Also check whether you can permanently delete information when you want it gone. Remote access deserves attention too. Look for strong account security and controls that let you shut off features you do not use.

Finally, think about the lifespan of your data. The entire point of the Red Heart is to keep personalized information after you replace the robot. That makes long-term software support especially important.

We recently saw why connected robots deserve scrutiny when a security report raised concerns about a Yarbo robot mower. The issues involved remote access, cameras and home-network exposure. Yarbo later acknowledged the core technical findings and began rolling out fixes.

OlloBot has already said it uses local encrypted processing and includes a physical camera cover. Now I want to see the deeper security details behind those promises. We reached out to OlloBot with questions about data storage, remote access and Red Heart security but did not hear back before our deadline.

OlloNi SS1 caught my attention because OlloBot wants this robot to become more personal the longer it lives with you. The Red Heart is the feature I keep coming back to. Instead of losing years of personalization when the hardware gets old, your family’s memories could move into the next robot. I can see why that might feel special. 

I can also see why some people will want the exact opposite. A robot that recognizes your family and captures private moments can learn a lot about what happens behind your front door. When those memories are designed to last for years, privacy becomes part of the buying decision from day one. 

OlloBot’s physical camera cover and local encrypted processing are good places to start. Before anyone hands over money, though, I want clearer answers about recordings and remote access. The company also needs to explain exactly what happens to information stored in the Red Heart. That does not make OlloNi a robot to fear. It makes it a robot that asks for a lot of trust.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino will stand for re-election in March, says football’s world governing body.

Infantino, who has filled the role since 2016, has been under pressure following his scrapped plans to sell stakes in Fifa competitions to private investment firms.

Infantino’s lucrative plan sparked a global outcry, with European football’s governing body Uefa threatening to boycott all Fifa competitions, including the World Cup.

“The Fifa president announced in April that he will stand for re-election in 2027,” read a Fifa statement.

“Of course, nothing has changed. Mr Infantino will be standing for re-election.”

It is the first time Fifa has said he will run for a fourth term since the scandal began following the summer’s World Cup.

Fifa this week accused Uefa of a “smear campaign against it and its leadership”, in a challenge to litigation over Infantino’s plan.

Last week Uefa filed legal papers in the US requesting disclosure of evidence and documents from Fifa, warning it could lodge a criminal complaint in Switzerland.

BBC Sport understands Uefa is confident that a candidate can be found to stand against Infantino.

A candidate must receive the backing of at least 106 of the 211 Fifa member associations.

Uefa has abandoned the idea of trying to force a vote of no confidence.

It would require three-quarters of the members – 159 votes – to pass the motion through a change of Fifa statutes, which is considered unrealistic.

No other candidates to challenge Infantino have been named, although Concacaf president Victor Montagliani is considered a serious option.

Nominations must be submitted by 18 November.

From locations as varied as sports stadiums and luxury resorts, influencers are now facing bans, arrests and rejection this summer.

Numerous onlookers have had enough, as Fox News Digital and other outlets have been reporting.

Here are just a few of the hot spots where social media influencers have been wearing out their welcome and ruining experiences for everyday Americans as well as local business owners.

1. Hudson Valley, New York

OpenAI, an artificial-intelligence technology company, hosted a group of content creators in August for a Summer Camp trip at Wildflower Farms, a luxury retreat in Upstate New York’s Hudson Valley.

The retreat sparked controversy, with many blasting the nature-focused getaway given concerns about the environmental toll of data centers needed to power AI.

“Sending them to nature before they turn it into a data center,” one X user wrote.

An OpenAI spokesperson defended the trip, telling The Hollywood Reporter that creators are an important part of the company’s community and that they play a part in how people learn about products, adding that OpenAI welcomes healthy debate.

2. The World Cup

Argentinian YouTube content creators Lautaro “Beni” Mármol, 20, and Patricio “Pato” Perrotta, 26, were arrested at this year’s World Cup. 

They were charged with interference at a sporting event after authorities said they bypassed three layers of security.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office wrote in arrest reports that Mármol said he was a media influencer trying to get in to stream the game and that Perrotta said he was “hired by a media company to review the event and has credentials, but they were from a previous event,” WPLG Local 10 reported.

3. Nantucket, Massachusetts

An island about 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Nantucket is accessible only by airplane or ferry. That remote access has long made it an exclusive and much-loved summer destination for many.

But content creators have been infuriating a number of locals.

Four Winds Craft Guild, a third-generation business approaching its 100th year, recently hung a sign saying, “No Influencers,” Fox News Digital previously reported.

Store owner John Sylvia told The New York Times it sometimes appears his store is a stage.

“I don’t have this hatred toward influencers,” he clarified. “It was more of a joke. It is a problem we should look at as a society.”

Sylvia’s partner, Jessica Jenkins, told the outlet she felt deluged by “people creating videos on corners of themselves sipping an iced coffee and looking over their shoulder and doing a shoe kick or whatever.”

Fox News Digital previously reached out to Four Winds Craft Guild for comment.

4. Baja California Sur, Mexico

In early August, Aman Hotels was at the center of a dispute with a YouTuber who attempted to stay at the luxury hospitality group’s new Amanvari resort on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, Mexico. 

Hotel reviewer Ryan Walker posted a video to YouTube alleging he paid $4,663 for a one-night stay at Amanvari, claiming the hotel canceled his reservation and called the police when he arrived. 

Aman took issue with Walker’s account. As The Wall Street Journal reported, Amanvari emailed Walker five days before his stay and asked him to postpone because the resort was under a month-long media blackout.

The resort told him he was welcome, but that he could not film in public areas and would need permission to do so in private spaces, the outlet said. 

YouTuber Allen Ferrell was banned for life from all Six Flags parks not long ago.

He posted a viral video that appeared to show him trying to eat chicken nuggets while riding a famous roller coaster at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, which is owned by Six Flags, Fox News Digital previously reported.

Six Flags said food and other loose items are prohibited on rides because these items can create safety hazards.

Britain is at risk of becoming a nation of sleep zombies as millions are struggling to get a proper night’s kip.

The country is feared to be in the grips of a sleeping crisis as four in 10 people who were surveyed admit they can’t get any decent shuteye. Nearly one in five say they never wake up feeling like they’re properly rested.

And experts say it could have a serious impact on public health, leaving millions at risk of heart disease, stroke and depression. They have described it as one of the “defining health challenges” of modern life.

There’s also a gender ‘sleep gap’ as women are 38% more likely to suffer from poor sleep than blokes, the research by the nutrition brand Nourished found. Women are also “far more likely” to say stress and anxiety is affecting the quality of the naps they get, with 44% citing it as a “barrier”, its report said.

The firm’s CEO Melissa Snover explained why the lack of sleep can leave Brits feeling like the walking dead. She said: “Sleep has become one of the defining health challenges of modern life. Deep sleep is the body’s major physical repair and recovery phase. It’s when processes involved in muscle and tissue repair, immune function, growth hormone release, metabolism and physical recovery take place.”

She said having a proper snooze is also vital for your brain, especially during the REM – rapid eye movement – part of sleep which is when the most vivid dreams happen. The nutritionist said: “REM sleep, meanwhile, is enormously important for the brain. It plays a key role in memory consolidation, learning, emotional processing and cognitive performance.”

A person’s sleep “architecture” and “quality” is also important to ensure people feel refreshed in the morning – not just the amount of hours Brits get in bed, she added.

She said: “So good sleep isn’t only about whether you feel physically refreshed in the morning – it can influence how clearly you think, concentrate, learn and function the following day.

“That’s why eight hours in bed doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve had eight hours of good sleep. Sleep quality and sleep architecture matter just as much as the numbers on the clock.”

Boffins at Nourished are attempting to combat this sleep crisis using its new sleep support gummy named PeptiSleep they developed with the help of AI. They say they have used AI to discover new natural bioactives and study them to use them in products.

Less than three months after emerging from stealth, XDOF, a startup that collects real-world teleoperation data for training general-purpose robots, is in late-stage talks to raise a Series B at a valuation of about $1.2 billion valuation led by 8VC, several people with knowledge of the deal said.

XDOF was co-founded by UC Berkeley researchers Philipp Wu (CEO) and Fred Shentu (CTO) in 2024. TechCrunch reported on the startup’s $70 million Series A in June, with participation from Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Lux, and Spark Capital. XDOF wasn’t planning to raise again so soon after that round. But the company’s rapid growth — with annualized revenue approaching $50 million — prompted VCs to approach it about a new round, the people said.

TechCrunch was unable to learn the total capital being raised or whether the valuation includes the new funding. The terms of the deal are not final and could still change.

XDOF and 8VC didn’t respond to our request for comment.

The startup aims to build the data pipelines, collection tools, and annotation systems that frontier AI labs and robotics companies can’t easily build themselves, essentially acting as an outsourced data-supply chain for the robotics industry.

As a PhD student, Wu was studying how robots learn from large datasets. One big impediment to his research was the lack of “large-scale data to work with,” he told TechCrunch in June.

So he teamed up with Shentu on a project called GELLO, a low-cost teleoperation system that allows a human operator to control a robotic arm remotely in order to generate training data. Their work led to an influential paper in robotics.

That research formed the foundation for XDOF, which investors now describe as the Scale AI or Mercor for physical robotics, a reference to the data-labeling giants that helped fuel the AI boom. Unlike LLMs, which initially trained on the entirety of the internet, physical robots don’t have an equivalent real-world dataset to draw from, making data collection a critical bottleneck to building general-purpose machines.

XDOF is partnering with UC Berkeley’s AI Research lab to release what it believes is the largest collection of high-quality robot training data ever assembled, dubbed ABC. 

To capture this data, XDOF combines remote robot teleoperation with human collectors who wear sensors to record everyday tasks like folding clothes and flattening boxes.

The startup plans to hire and train teams of data collectors worldwide, including teleoperators who steer robots remotely and egocentric operators who wear body sensors to capture movement data.

Five-time Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar will not race again this season after suffering injuries including a neck fracture at the Vuelta a Espana.

The injury, which he suffered last month on the race’s eighth stage, means the Slovenian will miss out on the chance to defend his title at the upcoming World Championships.

He crashed out of the Vuelta from a dominant position as race leader and required surgery on a broken collarbone, suffered a concussion, a “stable” fracture in his neck and multiple abrasions.

The 27-year-old, who was aiming to complete the set of Grand Tour titles, adding the Vuelta to his single Giro d’Italia victory and Tour de France wins, was due to defend his rainbow jersey at the World Championships in Montreal later this month.

“Of course, this isn’t the way I wanted my season to finish,” Pogacar said in a statement released by his team, UAE Team Emirates-XRG.

“Right now, the most important thing is to recover properly and give my body the time it needs.

“It has been a season with many special moments and I’m proud of what we achieved together. Now I’ll focus on getting healthy, supporting the guys from home, and coming back next year ready for what’s ahead.”

In October, Pogacar was due to defend his title at the European Championships in Ljubljana, in his home country, and in the Il Lombardia – the final one-day Monument race of the season.

The team said that the decision not to race again until 2027 would allow him to return to full health “without placing a timeline on his return to competition”.

UAE Team Emirates-XRG also announced their leading rider had agreed to extend his contract by two years, until 2032.

A passenger on an American Airlines flight was restrained to his seat with duct tape and zip ties after a midair outburst, forcing the plane to be diverted.

The flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Newark, New Jersey, had to make an unexpected stop in Baltimore late Thursday night due to the unidentified disruptive passenger who witnesses said was putting others at risk.

The man was allegedly screaming racial and homophobic slurs during the outburst, according to TMZ.

Video footage of the incident shows crew and passengers strapping the man to his seat as he appeared to put up a fight. 

Photos show the man secured to his seat with duct tape and zip ties, with even his head held to the seat.

Witnesses said the chaos erupted about two hours into the flight, when the man began yelling at a male passenger next to him. According to TMZ, the man was screaming about Jesus and going to hell, prompting a flight attendant to walk over and attempt to calm the situation.

The man called the flight attendant, who is Black, a racial slur and also shouted anti-gay remarks, according to the outlet. The man also reportedly became violent as he hit the passenger next to him.

A female passenger jumped in to help, but the man pushed her, leading to three other male passengers stepping in, the outlet reported.

“Just like a light switch, all of a sudden, it went from quiet to yelling and chaos,” one of the men, retired law enforcement officer Juan Mejia, told CBS Texas. “I turned around to look, and the poor gentleman that was sitting next to him in the aisle seat, the individual had his hands around his neck and was, like, assaulting him.”

Flight attendants handed duct tape and zip ties to the three male passengers, who restrained the unruly man to his seat and held him down as he attempted to break free.

American Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the plane was diverted to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, where law enforcement took the man into custody.

“On Sept. 3, ​American Airlines ​flight 618 diverted ​to ​Baltimore (BWI) ​due to a disruptive customer,” the airline said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Upon arrival, law enforcement met ​the ​aircraft ​and ​assisted ​with ​deplaning the ​customer before the ​flight ​continued to its ​destination.”

“The safety ​and ​security ​of our customers ​and team members ​is our top ​priority and ​we ​do not ​tolerate violence. We thank our ​team members for ​their ​professionalism ​and ​our customers ​for ​their ​understanding,” the statement added.

The FBI said that the Maryland Transportation Police arrested and booked the man on state charges.

“The FBI is currently conducting interviews to gather the facts and will consult with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland to determine if federal charges will be filed,” a spokesperson for the agency said in a statement to CBS Texas.

A “must-see” World War 2 film you’ve probably never heard of is streaming now in the UK. Irena’s Vow (2023) dramatises the true story of Polish nurse Irena Gut Opdyke (Sophie Nélisse), who is forced to work as a housekeeper for a high-ranking Nazi officer (played by Dougray Scott) and risks her life to hide a group of Jews in his home.

It was directed by Louise Archambault and written by Dan Gordon, who had written the earlier Broadway play. The theatrical production was in turn based on Opdyke’s own 1999 book, “In My Hands”. Fans have flocked to review aggregator platforms like Rotten Tomatoes to pour praise on the film.

One wrote: “The main character is so well cast, she tells the whole story with her eyes alone. Dougray Scott plays it very well, hadn’t seen him since Mission Impossible 2!

“Overall, I can’t think of anyone who didn’t convince me. I wouldn’t cut any scene to make it shorter. Very gripping score as well.”

Another called it a “must-see”, writing that Nelisse “and the entire cast deliver phenomenal performances”.

“This movie is fraught with drama and suspense, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!”

A third said they cried their eyes out at the end, adding “wonderful ending indeed”.

One fan writing on Rotten Tomatoes, where the film has an 86% Tomatometer score, wrote: “Wow what a powerful, beautiful story. I’d never heard of this and I do so like that it was based on true events.

“It also had exceptional acting by all. Give it a look, I’m sure you’ll like it.” Another added: “Excellent true story, very well told by a superb cast!”
